The Clash every time I saw them.
Sonic Youth around the time of Daydream Nation.
Nirvana at SOAS, their first gig in London. I was on stage that night as one of the three bands... TAD were the other band who in fact headlined. An estimated 6000 people in a venue that was supposed to hold 2000... mayhem. I think SOAS closed as a venue for a while after that because it got so out of control but Nirvana were awesome. Back then, there was an incredible freshness and energy about what they were doing. A massive, magical night.

radiohead- madison square garden (the smaller theater part)-06' just awe-inspireing (teh black key opend up!)
The Aquabats!- BB kings bar&grill NYC-05'(first time i saw them) these guys just remind you what music is all about, haveing fun...a band of super heros doing backflips off there amps, battleing monsters and singing about pool parties= one super rad night.
SGR,ASOB, and i voted for kodos st. patricks day 06'- at my home away from home (the bloomfield ave. cafe RIP)fun goofy ska music, SGR did a killer cover of 99 red ballons with the german verse and extra verses they wrote, people skanking on the walls, teh arragent sons of bitches kicking bum as expected...that whole scene was so freaking rad...
Bigwig and the planet smashers-05' planet smashers are a pretty cool ska band out of canada, there set was awsome but Bigwig (jersey hardcore awsomeness) just blew my mind. First song in the set the drummer had already doused his cymbles in lighter fluid and set them on fire, the flames were jumping like 4 feet in teh air every time he hit them, the entire venue was a pit, and the singer was tring to contain the hoopla with a broken leg...epic.

<br />Rammstein, MEN 05 I think it was.
Franz Ferdinand, CIA 05
Rammstein, CIA 06
The Enemy, Cardiff Uni 07
I saw Arctic Monkeys earlier this year too, everyone made out as if they were wicked live but I thought that they were quite boring. They played the songs almost perfectly, apart from a few lines forgotten here and there, but no stage presence at all.

I would think they would be a bit boring after seeing Rammstein a couple of times.

Man, I have seen some really great shows including a festival or two which is like cheating . It's hard to choose and I guess after a bit of thought, these were some that gave stand out performances. You would be amazed at the ones that I had to leave out due to only four being allowed. I am sure that I have forgotten a few (temporarily anyway that might have made it here but I did tend to enjoy myself to the fullest and then some on many of these outings .
Eric Clapton / Jimmy Vaughn & The Fabulous Thunderbirds ~'80
Jorma Kaukonen w/ Peter Kaukonen '87
John Lee Hooker ~ '95
ZZ Top / Grand Funk Railroad '82
My wife made me one of the coolest things ever for Christmas one year. I had no idea that she did it and it was so simple and cost effective. I had colelcted a bunch of ticket stubs, flyers, etc from my many road trips and local pub excursions. Several that she had attended with me but most were before we met. Anyway she saw those in a draw that I kept them in and unbeknownst to me had selected a lot of the stubs and maybe some flyers and took them to Kinko's Copiers. They have a deal there where you can lay these out and scan them or copy them and some how create a calender out of them. It had flyers as headers and if I recall, the ticket stubs sprikled around the borders. I am sure that I still have that calender stuck in the same drawer with all of the flyers. One day my little girl is going to be digging through all of that crap and say "Daddy, who is Gwar?"...
