So I sold my AD30R to get a Marshall 2061X - which did not work out. So now I have NO amp and am not dead set on anything specific.
Basically, I would like a Head/cab set up (preferable 4X12), and no more than 50 watts. I have now come to realize that I am not hard enough to consider non-master volume. I play heavy blues/rock and prefer single coil guitars.

Current options:
-Play it safe and buy a AD30TC head and cab. I know I like it and it works with my pedals, etc.
-I have the option of buying a Marshall 2550 Silver Jubilee head and cab. I think I will get it at a good price and it seems quite cool.

Any other sugestions

50W Marshall vintage modern? I only tried it out for a brief amount of time with a LP studio but was very impressed with it. Definitely capable of creating different sounds within the rock/blues territory.
Scott(feider) has one, and a I think Joe (pagesplexitone) may have one too so they may be able to chip in more.
I found it quite a rich and full sound and found it easy to dial in Gary Moore and Thin Lizzy esque tones. I'm sure it can do more but that just happened to be what came to my mind when I played it.

Give the Orange RV50H & PPC212 cab a try, I love mine and have as yet to find anything else that comes close.

I know I'm like a broken record, but Matamp King Street man, think it would be right up your street

Lars - I'd that a really hard look at the Marshall Vintage/Modern...
But being overseas Matamp surely would be calling me, big time and I wouldn't
rest til I at least talked to them.

Good advice, not a broken record.

Hubby said the King St was an astounding sounding amp (and he's had alot of amps!). He can't believe I'm dithering over it:D Women, tch!

It is a very nice amp...comes in nice colours too;)

Matamp King Street definitely seems like a great choice and yes I do believe it would be right up my street.
But:
1) I would have to buy it untried
2) The lead time - as I said, I am ampless NOW

-Maybe I will keep my eyes out for some used ones.

They come up pretty regularly on the Matamp forum, one sold a couple of days ago for under £500. Could be worth checking Matamp London too, they had a couple in.
