Ampless with a wad of cash...
Moderator: bclaire
A wad = roughly € 1700 (approx USD 2200).
I am however conscious in that I would like to make my aquisitions in a way that I can recover most of the money when I move on. So I either like to buy 'second hand' or make other arrangements. As in the case of the Vintage Modern, I would order it from the UK as they are about 30 % cheaper there.
So some amps may be less interesting because they are difficult to sell (this would be less of an issue if I knew I would keep it but I am know myself all too well). This may be a concern with the Matamp - since the market in Sweden is very limited.
RV50 is absolutely an option - but I need to find one second hand
Super reverb - I have had one (no master, combo)
AC30 - NO. Yes it sounds good but not for me (and it is a combo)
Hiwatt - I do believe they do stretch beyond my pricerange

Allow me to recommend www.reevesamps.com/amp_custom_30.htm
Obviously, you're looking for an alternative to EL84'S...I think a KT-66 powered amp might be just your ticket.Plus,it sounds like the power scale option could be useful to you as well.
