Guys, if you get a chance, play these cabs. I preferred them to the handwireds even...I don't know what MOJO they have going on, but I had to go back today and buy the angle cab too.....

I'm way too old to bring full stacks to shows...:D

So what is in those?

I am currently ampless (once the 2061X went back) and one of my options I am considering is a Silver Jubilee 50W with cab. The cab has G12(T)-75 elements and I do not know much about them.

and some tech helper type said, "Gee, Mr Atkins, that guitar sure sounds fabulous!" Chet put the guitar on it's stand and said, "Well, how does it sound now?"

Ha ha...yeah Scott...like I said me too! : ) I'm too old to lug that around, but man it sounds so well, right. They are loaded with the G12C, and yep John they are the same speak that was in the Jimi stack (and those are the only two places to get the G12cs currently).

It's had to describe the sound of the cab but it does everything good the greenbacks do without that pesky zippy presence peak thing....smooth and solid while still retaining the early breakup of a 25 watt speak. I was gonna get the HWbase cab with the g12H 55hz but, gulp, I liked the VMs more.....?!

Speaking of vintage Marshall cabs, here's one of mine. All the speakers have the same date code, Dec. '68 I beleive.

I have an 80's 1960AV with 4 celestion V 30's. I have a friend who has the same one, but a new model.. This is no lie.. It weighs less than mine, and the V30's look different.. Still sounds good though..

Personally, I like the look, but not the heft.
I would "Dummy-ize" the Bottom Cab. The top cab, I would replace two of the speakers with those super lightwieght 12's and just run the remaining two.

Then, you get a light-wieght brewtal looking stack, but with 2x12's you are not to Lethal!
