Hello everybody, I'd really like to buy a new amp now and I'm curious about the Orange amps. I cant find a prizelist anywhere so please tell me the prizes if you know them. And would you prefer the Ad series or rockreverb for Muse(and similar)like music?

haha...oh come on dont make fun of the poor guys english. Yeah i think you could get close to muse with an AD series especially if you used a pedal (i think matt uses a Marshall). As far as prices go check ebay and search orange.

...as well as you could with a Rockerverb.
The Rockerverb has more gain. Maybe sometimes an AD won't be enough distortion for you. Sometimes Muse use quite much, and maybe sometime you want to use even more?
They're are both good amps. The big difference is the amount of gain.

i'd go for the rockerverb 100.. since you can do more than one sound.. also if you use a lot of effects.. orange have a reputation for not working perfectly with all kinds of pedals..

try the rocker first, then go for a Ad140 or an vintage OR120..

that's my vote.

(wow, time to post for a change)

Just to make the point:
If you look at the DVD that comes/came with Absolution, there is a clip of matt's AD (if i remember correctly) and he mod'ed the Orange sign to say DE-range-D.

But personally i agree with Orphin, the rockerverb will probably be more of a Muse-in-one-amp amp! than a straight (i.e. no effects) AD.

seen matt belamy use orange when using multiple amps, altho on smaller setups he seems to just use marshall - he definately has this orange cab that he likes to push over and stand on - it looks so completely beat up but clearly still works...

the rockerverb is great cos its higher gain so it will get you close-ish to their sound even though its not what matt uses

Hi Grautur,
Check out Orange USA for a price list.

http://www.orangeusa.com/

If you live outside the USA, the price may differ but this will give
you an idea.

If you want a guitar amp that offers a wide range of really excellent
sounds, look into one of hte AD series amps. I chose the AD30HTC
head myself. They offer an excellent clean sound (as good or better
than my 1971 Fender twin) and an excellent shredding sound (kinda like
my 1983 Mesa Boogie MK II C).

The AD series offers two "independent channels", each of which has
Bass, Mid, Treble controls that boost or cut. Both channels have
independent Gain and master volume controls, which is a BIG advantage
over my Boogie.

They don't have an effects loop, but if you only put effects in your
effects loop (as opposed to a volume pedal for instance) YOU DON'T
CARE about that any way.

The Orange sound offers a bit more "edge" than a comparable Marshall,
or Boogie. They also can sound nice and warm like a Fender twin.

Try one at your nearest dealer and you will most likely buy one.
I did.

Oh yeah,
Here's a dealer that you can order online if you want:

www.jimsguitars.com

That's where I spend most of my money.

We are not allowed to discuss prices on the forum for a number of good reasons, but are we allowed to post links to the websites of dealers that we use or does that constitute being cheeky?

Well, my names not Billy or Dave. But I'm sure that linking to dealers should be fine. After all these details are available on the Orange website itself!

Good question...

If posting links to where desired equipment can be found is not
allowed, let me know and I won't do it any more.
