I "aquired" the new album a few days ago, but will purchase it on vinyl once it comes out.

So far I like it, but it hasn't blown me away like the other albums, but hopefully it will grow on me.

I think it is a good album, but nothing will come close to the Self-Titled, Rated R and Songs for the Deaf albums. Hmmmmm.....those are all albums with Nick Oliveri on them!?!?;);)

You hit the nail on the head!!! I have had Era Vulgaris for a couple of weeks and it is the type of album that grows on you.

I'm not convinced about the whole Nick leaving thing, I liked Lullabies to Paralyze just as much as their older albums.

and some tech helper type said, "Gee, Mr Atkins, that guitar sure sounds fabulous!" Chet put the guitar on it's stand and said, "Well, how does it sound now?"

Dont get me wrong.....I am a huge fan of everything Josh Homme does, but you have to admit the band is less "raw" and more produced in the past 2 albums. Its more like QOTSA/Desert Sessions then just QOTSA.

BTW.....I love "L to P" and really like the new album. Best live band I have seen.....ever!

i'm a big Queens fan - I also agree that the last album was a bit over produced, to the point where some of the different guitar sounds kind of bleeded together and become less present - if that makes sense. I still like them a lot though, and think they are a great band.
