2 suggestions...
Either an MXR Micro Amp, or the Fulltone Fat Boost.
I run a MXR Micro Amp in the FX Loop for a super clean volume boost. (you can run it in front of the amp as well).
The other gtr player in my band uses the fulltone fat boost, and it sounds amazing as well!

so, thanks to all who recommended the mxr micro amp; tried one, bought one. Simply put, it simply does what it claims to do: give a volume boost without changing tone! Simple volume (gain) knob and foot switch. Love it when it's so simple.
P.S. I run it thru the effects loop. Don't want nuthin' messin with that sick tone!
