OK, my current Favourite Five are (although this'll probably change the next time I listen to a CD I haven't heard for a while)...

U2 - Greatest Hits collection (rock stuff... duhhh)
Doves - The Last Broadcast (British alternative)
The Fat Cats - Keeping Up With the Dow-Joneses (jump-ska stuff - awesome!)
Tim Hughes - When Silence Falls (contemporary Christian Rock)
Finally - i'm cheating here - My own personal collaboration CD.

Including all or none of the following artists...

Mercury Rev, The Avalanches, The Baker Brothers, Semisonic, Maroon 5, Snow Patrol, Royksopp, Jeff Buckley, Tom Petty, Dire Straits, some of the Cafe Del Mar music, anything and everything really! I've got pretty wide tastes, as long as it's not manufactured chart-pop.

Don't tell me the best way, just tell me the cheapest way...
Joe

G(sus) saves

Orange AD15, Matamp 1224, Fender 'JD' Tele, G&L ASAT, Duesenberg Starplayer TV, Eggle Kanuga, Avalon D25, Warwick FNA Jazzman, Eden Nemesis / Bergantino EX112S, Eastman MD305 & other stuff...

... Oh come on Irish, i know you've got a love deep down in your heart for some steps and spice girls? <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Well at the moment (tonight) I’ve got a real taste for techno (I hate that word, It just paints a picture of local youths (chavs)l, driving along in there nova’s) such as Aphex twin, Orbital and Leftfield. But don’t worry I’ll get over it soon… All I need to here is some “hard trance nationâ€

the forum has some of the best music taste ever. where else would u find another datsuns fan?
1.The Datsuns - Outta Sight Outta Mind
2.T-Rex - Electric Warrior
3.The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
4.Sloan - 4 Nights at the Palais Royale
5.The Hives - Tyrannasaurus Hives

i doubt they are my fav albums, thats just what im listening to now. like, i like the first datsuns album better than 'outta mind'. im listening to all kinds of t-rex now, my fav song is probably 20th Century Boy or Elemental Child (neither on Electric Warrior) but electric warrior is the best all around i think. i think "Baby You're a Rich Man" is possibly the happiest song ive ever heard, which is why i like magical mystery tour so much. and i am the walrus isnt that bad either ;).

SLOOOO-OANNN: For those of you who dont know who Sloan is, youre foolish! i went to see Jet, and Sloan blew them away... and i like Jet! Sloan is just fantastic, and so good live. Sloan's studio recordings are crap compared to the live stuff. 4 Nights... is a live album. i suggest you download "Money City Maniacs" and then buy every Sloan cd you can find.

As for The Hives; they are The Hives!!! The new CD is so good, the production is just fantastic. the production on this makes their old album sound soooo crappy. Howlin' Pelle, the lead singer is awesome. In fact, he looks exactly like me, i am his american twin! The "Walk Idiot, Walk" video kept me laughing for an hour. i love the hives!

*tips hat to Nrkprod*
I think us Datsuns fans are few and far between. Most people I know think they're sh*t or they've never heard of them. The debut is a classic. I have to say I wasn't overjoyed by the new album at first but there are some great songs on it that are growing on me.

I find it hard to pick favourite albums. My list was really just what I've been listening to lately too. I got the Von Bondies album Pawn Shoppe Heart a few weeks ago and the Libertines first album. I was pleasantly suprised how good they were. Oh yeah, and the Janis Joplin cd box set.

Datsuns are great- saw Sloan too with JET they were fantastic- and Magical Mystery Tour is pretty awesome- I've done an acoustic version of Walrus for years!

But does anyone have the new ASH CD Meltdown? I bought it (it isn't out here yet- import) and the tracklisting on the case doesn't match the CD itself. Is that what happened with that? It's also a live album... is that right, too?

Thanks, Billy

I can't believe it. I ordered the CD from Amazon.co.uk and the numbers don't match between the CD itself and the packaging! Have you ever heard of that happening? I ordered the studio CD and it came with the Live CD inside instead... bastards!

Hmm...albums I´d take to a desert island? This is a tricky question, but I´d try to take with me one album for every mood. It goes something like this:
NORAH JONES - Come Away With Me
THE HELLACOPTERS - High Visibility
AC/DC - Who Made Who
THIN LIZZY - Jailbreak
Neil Young - Harvest

Last 5 albums bought:
THE SOLUTION - Communicate!
MONSTER MAGNET - Monolithic Baby
THE (INTERNATIONAL) NOISE CONSPIRACY - Armed Love
SAHARA HOTNIGHTS - Kiss and Tell
JAMES BROWN - Live Dynamite
