His first album with Dallas and Be Careful with a Fool. Is excellent, it's from '67. It's recorded very well too.

Not heard much of his stuff, but I liked what I heard.

I was similar with Gary Moore, it was more "that guitarist from Lizzy when they went bad? I refuse to listen cos my dad likes him" as I was and still am a HUGE Rory Gallagher nut, and we would argue about the 2, but I sat down with a pile of Gary's albums and listened, and WOW. Even going to see the man live in 2 months :) awsome

I saw JW several times in the old days. Maybe the most awesome concert that I ever saw him play was at the Newport Jazz Festival in 1969. It was kind of a competitor to Woodstock, there were rock and blues acts. I can't remember all of the acts, but JW stood out, he was so great. After his set B.B. King got up and played with him, and he was okay, but JW blew him off of the stage. JW was truly awesome that day.

Check out the acts at Newport 1969:

I have Live Johnny Winter And, which is a great live electric blues album. He, along with SRV, are both white Texas bluesboys that played with Tommy Shannon. From what I hear, he was the premeire Texas blues guy in the 70s.
My Stuff:
Fender American Series Stratocaster
Fender Highway One Stratocaster
Gibson Les Paul Custom
Gibson Les Paul Special
Rickenbacker 4003
Marshall JCM-900 Combo
Fender SF Princeton Reverb
...and others
