helpful tip for obc410 owners
steps for the easiest way to disconnect the horns attenuator without worrying about crimped clasps, physically removing the horn, or loose wires.
step 1-- if you're facing the front of the cab, locate the handle at your right hand side.
step 2--unscrew the handle.
step 3-- locate the two fuses soldered together going vertical. they are housed in a metal fuse holder furthest away from you.
step 4- with bare hands (don't use pliers) scoop and pinch the bottom fuse upwards and remove. (this may need a decent amount of force).
this will disconnect the bass from reaching the horn and will not effect the cabs impedance.
just replace the fuses in order to have the tweeter working again!
the end.

uhm yea man it should be easy to tell if the horn is off or not, it should take away some of the harsh brittleness on top.. sounds alot better imo when its alone.. with the 15 i prefer it on.

Question though: Do the cabs really come with a horn attenuator now? That would be a much needed improvement...

I sure don't think it's a problem. When I compare it to my Peavey 210 cab I can hardly hear it. The Peavey has an attenuator and when you open it up, that thing sizzles like crazy. I've never had even close to that kind of high-end action with the Orange.Originally posted by Aranciata
i was thinking of getting this cab to match an AD200B, but i'm being put off my the tales of the horn. Is it that bad? I know everyone has differing opinions.

I had just put new strings on my Jazz, when i did the horn disconnect so i think initially i was wondering where the sound was. But after playing i noticed that a lot of the String noise and sound like that, that were amplified by the horn, were in fact gone.
So the horn is off and it sounds cool, a little more old school if you will.

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I have a question. Do you pull both fuses, or just the bottom one?
Thanks, Lenny.

I think one alone will do it...
If it's an American-made OBC410, also double-check that it is really 8 ohms. Mine was wired incorrectly...

So, I pulled the right hand side handle, and all I could see was the crossover on the back panel. I didn't see any fuses at all. Or at least not traditional looking fuses anyway. Is that where ther're located? On the crossover PCB?
Thanks, Lenny.
