Hi, I was just wondering if anybody knew good websites to start me off on guitar maintenance i.e. everything that a guitar tech does when you get a guitar professionally setup?

I'm sick of my G&L going sharp in 5 seconds and the tremolo bar sending it sharp after one touch of the bar. It wasn't setup up as I got it straight from the factory.

+1 Dan Erlewine. I have his book "How to Make Your Electric Guitar Play Great", Comes with relief gauges also. I think that I have learned more from this book than any of my other ones. Another site is www.guitarnuts.com. Here's some books!

Might be good to sign up for Stewart-MacDonald's email tips newsletter. It's pretty interesting, although usually WAY over my head...

Setting up a guitar , even with a trem is much easier than you think...all you need is a shove in the right direction and a little confidence. Dan Erlwines book started me off over 20 tears ago and i gradually learned to do all my own guitar work.
Take it easy and think it through. If you are unsure..just ask!
Fretwork is different. That does take knowledge and some experience but it can all be learned. I do all my own fretwork but i don't do any spraying.
I can remember the time when even setting intonation was just a mystery to me!!:)
