<br />Hey d1dsj!
That's one hell of a collection of fine amps right there. Very nice!
How do you like those Cornfords?
<hr height="1" noshade id="quote"></font id="quote"></blockquote id="quote">
Thanks, Cornford's work for me.... very expressive and touch sensitive. I did think about a BognorXTC but there's not much back up over here. I should add that of those amps I only have the MKII and the Tiny Terror now... the MK50II made the Hellcat and MK50H obsolete (although they are all great amps)!
Ok then, comments in a different post!

I was about to say, really nice collection of Cornfords!
I recently bought a Roadhouse 30 and after some initial issues with a noisy power tube, I'm really satisfied with it. If Cornford can build a 'low end' amp like this, I'd be really interested to try out a MKII one of these days!
I find mine really touch sensitive as well (understand it is more forgiving than the MKII though) and the note clarity even with highish gain is quite remarkable.
How do you find the MKII compared to the Hellcat?

You are quite right, the MK50II (and MK50H) are unforgiving. I have got used to the fact and although my playing is average at best, it has improved quite a bit since having my first MK50H.
Ok, the MKII compared to the Hellcat. Well I loved the cleans of the Hellcat and the overdrive was very good although a little too compressed for me. I think the Hellcat is more refined and is better suited to more technical players. I had the MK50H at the same time and for a while used both amps through a Mesa stereo 4 x 12... but after a while it got tedious as well as time consuming regarding balancing the volumes etc if we were short of time. I prefered the big open sound of the MK... more old school classic rock IMO. Anyway, along came the MK50II... great allround package... did everything the other 2 did in one package. Infact, the MKII although it's supposed to be the same overdrive circuit is actually more refined than the MK50H, so the MKII is the best of both amps. All in all I'm very happy with it.
