Hi Brent, welcome.
What sort of sound are you looking to get out of your AD30? It's usually happy with most decent tranparent overdrive pedals, although my personal view is that when you start getting to distortion and fuzz territory, it doesn't sound great as it's too coloured already as an amp.
No input on the MXR i'm afraid, but I can suggest quite a lot of others...

Well, I'd tell you if I could remember where the hell my MXR pedal is. when my roommate moved out three years ago, I moved stuff around in the apartment and his old room is the music/ computer room...
... and I have absolutely NO idea where I put that stupid pedal. I probably won't find it until I move.

Well, I found it a couple of months ago. Not even in my house- in my mother's basement!
I have the MXR Distortion II which is a four knob, AC powered pedal from 1981. It sounds OK... not great or anywhere near as good as more modern pedals, like the Xotic pedals. It has a knob for what adds whoomp, like Marshall cabinet whoomp.

These were very good when I was growing up as we had little selection. I used one at half volume output to control a 100 watt Plexi.
Now, there are so many better pedals than those. Personally, I will not use any more Japanese Junk on the floor...Certainly not in conjunction with an Orange.
