Ok first off, im a guitarist who is looking to by a new tube head that dishes out alot of distortion however i still want it to have a nice clean tube sound and NOT solid state. I play and respect many different types of music but i mainly play metal and "guitar virtousish" music. (Vai, Yngwie, JASON BECKER). I really love the sound of john petruccis tone however his rig is like a gajillion dollars. So does anyone have any idea what i can get. Krank?!? MESA?!? MARSHALL?!? I have no idea. HELP

You should try the Peavey JSX. Seems to cover your needs

Excellent suggestion !

I like my JSX just about as much as my Rockerverb 50H. They are quite different beasts though and i feel the JSX would fit your bill !

The JSX has a sound that was made for "guitar virtousish" music. Havent tried the new Peavey 6505(?) yet, but I recon it would do the trick also.
I would check out the Engl Fireball/Powerball, I´ve only tried the Engl Savage and didn't like it but I would like to try the Fireball 60w head.

I'd also agree that the JSX is the best bet in sound and affordability. Getting into the Engl, Framus, Diezel range will rack up a pretty steep price tag.

That guy, to me, is my favorite musician, i love to play serrana by him, though i cant do it up to his speed, i try to make it sound as clean as possible, it just a beautiful song to me. And all his work with Marty is amazing as well. Anyways, everyone has been telling me about the JSX. I watched it on the G3 tour and it sounded pretty cool. I guess i'm gonna have to try it out. Any other suggestions?

Never pay more than $3 for Krank.

DON'T DO DRUGS, or amps that are named after homemade drugs!

Have a friend punch you square on the Nose for free. Same buzz, same damage, but you save the 3 bucks.

Cornford amps are great, but they cost a lot. Check out the Hellcat and the Mk50h.
