I've updated all pages for Dave's tutorials...

one thing I did change Dave, was the part about waiting 2 minutes to turn off your amp... I have never heard that before and I don't believe there is really any benefit to doing it... I could be wrong, though.

Fixed parallel thing in impedance too...

nice pictures, Dave. I'm going to have to check out that camera- I have Fujifilm 6800Z but I'm jonesing for a digital SLR. I'm so sick of the "click and wait-snap" aspect of most digital cameras. I was trying to shoot some horse show pictures for a friend of mine and the horses were over the jump by the time the camera took the picture!

A good friend of mine writes and reviews for Digital Camera Magazine in the UK and sometimes for T3, too, and he's been my source for camera purchases.

Casn't wait to see the new site!

Now I'm off to plant shrubs in my mother's yard. Oh boy...

"Digital SLR" yep its the only way to get around the delay! I still use 35mm for "action" shoots, i just can't justify in my head getting a digital SLR as I’ve also got a pretty descent Film SLR.
I get to "mess around" with the (Cheaper - not very) Canon's and Nikon Digital SLR's and they are just amazing.

On the 2 min to turn of, i think i read it somewhere, but whatever!

Hows the site going Jason? Still set for 9pm EST? Are you going to do anything to the forum (add new features like polls etc...) or keep with the classic one.

We're adding information about other products at the moment. Updated dealer listings (We're working on the back end of this so the sales guys can easily keep them bang up-to-date). We've added a bunch of desktops to a media section. The Rockerverb manuals are up, but we're waiting on the AD ones which I'm told are almost available. I've got four Rockerverb reviews up too. The forum will stay the same for now. I'll look into the poll thing.

I think you let your amp sit on standby for a little bit before switching off... sort of similar idea to letting it warm up. It lets the tubes cool a wee bit slower, preventing damage.

Digital SLRs... the lowest priced of the 'high end' SLRs... ie, those ones where you won't notice the difference between that and film at at least 7" x 5" is probably a Canon D10. Really good cameras. A friend has got one... so would I if I had the money!

Canon 10D, well the Canon 300D (If i recall correctly its called something like the "Rebel" in the US) has the exact same "CMOS sensor" so as long as you have the same lens on both cameras you (shouldn't) see a difference in the final picture. The 10D is basically better built, and has a greater processing speed and a bigger "buffer memory", which means with the 10D you can take about 7 (or is it 9, i cant remember @ the moment) pictures (@ 4 frames per second) before the camera has to stop taking, to allow the picture to be transferred to the memory card. While the 300D only has about 4 picture storage (@ around 2.5 frames per second) before its stops firing.
My advice to someone with a relatively limited budget would be to get the 300D (unless you need the 7 frame buffer memory) and spend the savings on a better lens (L series – Those white lenses that you always see pros using).
For some reason, a hell of allot of people that come in don’t think that glass makes a difference when using a digital???
The main think I don’t like about the 300D is that its Silver!!! Why do people these day insist on making electronic products in silver cases, BRING BACK BLACK (Or Orange???)

Hear hear...

I'll have to take your word for it on the D10 as opposed to the Rebel, I thought the specs were much better on the D10 myself, otherwise, why the huge price difference?

Yer it does have aload of better spec's than the 300D, but i just couldn't be a**d listing them. The ones i listed are the "main" ones, but it also has a faster shooter speeds, grater ISO setting and aload of smaller improvements.

Also if I was to buy one, I would go for the 10D, but I would wait a few months, Nikon brought out the D70, which is give or take 10D specs but just alittle more than the 300D price. So I imagine a wee bit of a price crash on the canon range in the not so distant future.

I bought my fuji when I read great reviews about it. 'Course that was a few years ago now, which is practically decades with technology! A good friend of mine had bought the Leica version of one of the fuji digital cameras- a Fuji camera but with Leica lenses and man, that took really clear, good pictures! Lenses are so important...

Well just doing some pointless surfing, and it seems that you can get a (more than likely illegal, and will defiantly invalidate the cameras warranty) firmware upgrade that basically turns your 300D into a 10D? Kind of funny how you can get a £400 more expensive camera with a bit of software upgrade!
I’m a bit sceptical of these things though…

Tell you what Billy, Fuji are by far the best company to deal with (well the UK part is) for digital cameras. There customer service is great. But good old Leica... If you really want quality digital pictures, they are in the not so distant future doing a "digital back" for the R series cameras. If i remember correctly it going to be around the region of £3000 - £4000 for the back (which is going to be around 10 million pixels), and your looking @ £1500 for the body and at least another grand for a lens. But you will never see a better picture than one from a Leica. (well possibly one from a Hasselblad with a digital back and a Zeiss lens, more your comparing totally different beasts)

Sooner,

I know this is a really late answer, but i saw a video of smashing pumpkins playing 1979 live and they were using an orange AD30R head. (i forgot who, but definitely one of them.)
