I'm possibly looking to buy an orange amp, but i cant decide which one of these i want?!?! i dont usually use 2 channels when i play, but at the same time i may decide that it might be more beneficial in the long run to have the option of another channel. I've heard that the tone of a AD30TC isnt quite as good as the AD30R, is this true? I need some help from you guys to help me decide.
A gray day turns my mind away,
To places past and gone.
Broken-hearted dreams I've seen,
Broken-hearted dreams i've dreamed
AD30R or AD30TC?

I don't know where you heard that AD30 TC sounds worse than AD30R, but i don't believe it. I tried both side by side, they were the same.
Even if you use only one sound, having two channels could still help you. You can have a lead/rhythm set up or something like that. Thing about AD30TC is that both channels are very similar, and that adds to the versatility as Bclair mentioned in one of the threads.
For the price of a descent EQ pedal and a volume pedal, you could get the AD30TC instead of AD30R and it's so much better that way. The silent channel switching is really silent too. (don't forget that AD30TC doesnt' come with any reverb though. But i didn't like the reverb on the AD30R that much.) if you're serious about reverb, may be you should get a descent reverb unit.
Oh, how are the vintage fender reverb units?

Well I like my (reissue) Fender tank reverb a lot, but it is ultra sensitive to vibration, so not ideal for live use. Sounds great though.
I'd be tempted by something like the 'holy grail', or the Danelectro 'real spring' pedals if I needed outboard spring reverb sounds live.
What I'd really like of course would be a nice old Orange Reverb, but I've never even seen one for real...
