PRESS RELEASE - June 10th 2004
For the first time in 4 years, Orange are announcing a whole new range of guitar amplifiers. The new Rockerverb series is set to deliver everything you would expect from an Orange amplifier, plus a whole lot more!
"We wanted to produce an amplifier that would not only provide the trademark Orange sound, but would also allow the guitarist to really drive the front end", commented Jason Green, President of Orange USA. "Think retro chime meets nu metal and you wouldn't be far off! We've built a solid user base in the rock and pop-punk genres, but we're very keen to break the mold. The Rockerverb amplifiers allow the versatility to tackle everything from country through hardcore with a richness of tone that is absolutely
unbelievable! We're going to make a lot of guitarists very happy!"
The Rockerverb series uses all tube technology and is 100% transistor free. Features include ultra high gain, superb chiming reverb and a fully tube driven effects loop.
"Yeah, we were being continuously hassled by consumers about the fact that we don't have effects loops in the AD series amplifiers. Well you know what? We listened! Loads of gain, tube driven reverb and effects loops. We did our market research, and the Rockerverb series has the lot!"
Comprised of four new models, the Rockerverb series will be available to consumers next month. The Rockerverb 100 is a twin channel, 100 watt head. The Rockerverb 50 is it's 50 watt baby brother, and will be available in both head and 2X12 combo versions. Finally, the Rocker 30 is a 30 watt 1X12 combo perfect for recording or smaller shows.
It looks like Orange has found it's feet and has definitely positioned itself at the top of the boutique amplifier market.

also, this from Jason:
"In the mean time I thought I'd fill you in on the new Rocker 30 amp so you can pass on the info in the forum.... It's a twin channel, 30 watt 1X12 combo. We obviously get a lot of people asking us to make different amplifiers and this combination has been requested the most. The clean channel just has a volume control and that's it. Dirty channel has Gain, EQ's and Volume. It's going to be a lot less expensive than a twin channel AD30... It's basically a step up from the AD15 and is aimed at the same market. Circuit wise, it's similar to the new rockerverb heads with more gain than an AD30. I've heard a prototype in England and it sounded amazing. I haven't had a chance to try one myself though so I've told you about as much as I know!"

Well haven’t really learned anything new from that, but shock Orange are starting to talk to us! Which has to be good! As I said in an other thread, it seems that there just trying to spread them selves over the whole amp market, just hope for the orange name sake not to thinly!

Well yer, funny really when i first started my interest in oranges (and im still a relative new comer to the game) all my mate were like "my god there disgusting" now they aren’t so harsh (o, I always liked them etc…)! I suppose a few nicely placed oranges on TV and you’ll get a mile long queue for the stuff! I suppose that’s what happened with Black Sabbath (I know he wasn’t playing them) but I bet there was one hell of a boost of sales after that show.
Just wait for 2010 when everyone’s back to there “hard tranceâ€

seriously. hey billy, were you the only one who was sent the info or is there some sort of mailing list i'm not aware of? orange should be giving you some sort of kickbacks if they are relying on you to pass the info out to all of us.
on a somewhat related note, am i the only who who feels this new line of amps is a bad move for orange's image? they are known for making simple, no frills amps that are filled with sweet sweet tone, but now are producing amps to appeal to the nu metal crowd and adding things like effects loops and what not. perhaps i am a purist, but i just don't get it. i'd hate to see a company such as orange tarnish their much respected image just to make a few coins.

I have a feeling the info will be on the website soon. I had emailed Jason with some totally unrelated questions about the website and he sent me that info to post here. Some of you may know that I do webdesign as well as being an art teacher so I was inquiring whether they could use some help...
I don't know if it's a good move or not, those amps. Time will tell but I'd need to have one in my hot little hands to really know for sure. Since I am somewhat of an Orange junkie, you know I'll be trying them out when I can...!

A "nickel tour" is due.

Sure they're trading on the Orange name to break into different areas guys. Just hang onto your ADs and ORs 'cos when people hear the difference between that and a Rocker(verb) they're going to be wondering where you got it...

And it is a pain in the butt that Orange don't bother using their website much.
