Are all the tubes supposed to light up?

Are all the tubes supposed to light up when you play out of the ad30R? the ecc83's don't light up but all the other tubes do

Depends what sort of tubes you've got...

Don't tell me the best way, just tell me the cheapest way...

i thought only the powertubes should light up?

All tubes light up but some types are brighter than others. Try turning the lights off in the room at night with the amp on... if a tube isn't lighting, something is probably wrong with it.

Yeah they all should light up though not all with the same brightness.

interessting..
can anyone tell me why the preamptubes have the tincans??
and also why(??) most amps only seem to have a tincan on one of the preamptubes...

what's up with that.? ground?

I suspect it's to shield them from RF & EM interference. The chasis shields all of the circuitry with a ground but the tubes are exposed. The preamp tubes are most suseptible to this so the power tubes don't need to be shielded. Of course if you have a Monster power cord you probably don't need the shields...... <img src=icon_smile_clown.gif border=0 align=middle>

I thought the cans prevented them from rattling around too- never thought about shielding. Funny about the Monster Cord!

alright.. that might be the reason..
never thought about it in that way since where i live it's all forests, pines and stuff all over.. so everything like that (even the new cellular g3-poles) are wierd.. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

yeah.. and according to a brazilian magazine we have polarbears running around in the streets and all girls are blonde and members of the swedish-bikini-team.. fascinating..
