I'm thinking about going Orange... But I play in my basement quite a bit and need the tone, but not the Volume. I've heard things about this HotCake thing, would that be sufficient? Or the Powerbrake?

orange makes low wattage amps, you don't have to get the 80/120/140 watt monsters if you are only playing in your basement. an ad30 with a 2x12 is probably what you are looking for, if not a smaller combo type amp. just be aware that new oranges don't sound like the old ones, and if you get an old one, they are LOUD.

The AD30TC was what I was looking at I need the 2x12's for sure. But I'm playing through an AC30 right now and it rips so I'm forced to play through my smaller transistor 10 watt peavy. (Ahgghhh!) I was considering the Hotcake if I in fact do purchase a AD30. The AC30 is on loan for another 3 months, so I need to make a move on the Orange quickly. Will it be quiet enough? I hope not, I need the Volume when playing out. But I need the tone when playing in.
