Why is the reverb tank in my Rockerverb 1/4 the size of the tank in my AD yet the Rockerverb puts out a lot more reverb?

Aren't they both 3 spring accutronics tanks? Does it have to do with the RVs reverb being tube driven??

They both sound fine with thier respective amps of course...just was curious about the stuff listed above;)

They're both valve driven, just the AD one is more subtle. Let's be honest, how much of the full RV reverb do you ever use? I don't use much of the AD reverb...

In my rockerverb I've never passed the reverb pot from 10 o'clock. For sure, much more than what I need.

it seems that reverb in long tanks is more subtil and supports better louder volume...it's just my impression...in your house or bedroom the little tank seems more efficace but on stage it's not the same thing...

10:00-11:00 on my Rockerverb;)

I'm not saying it's bad...just curious why the ad seems to have a bigger pan yet a lot less reverb.

Mike commented there... but I don't really know reverb technology so can't say too much!

All I know is it's useable ALL the way up...

Hi Chris,
The Rockerverb units tank may be a "folded spring" design. Those have the springs in a Z pattern instead of in a long line, which does save space. They are also claimed to be less "boingy" and so supply a more natural hall effect. That would account for the size difference. As for the level, that is a different issue entirely. The size of the reverb tank doesn't have much (if anything really) to do with the output level. That is a function of the reverb circuit. The Rockerverb must have a higher gain circuit. High gain is not unique to guitar tube amp designs however it is more common than not.

The Long Springy Dingy Boingy ones are for those who love to play ****y Dale stuff. The smaller ones are for the more modern Hall styles. Just to try to keep up with the pedals.

What is a good sounding electronic reverb pedal for say a Rocker 30 then?

The Holy Grail sounded very good (one I heard was kinda noisy though) and the Verbzilla sounds as good and is more versatile. If I was getting one, it'd be the Verbzilla.

That is what I have been looking at on-line. I just liked the name! I am concerned that the name might be the only thing that's cool about it though!
