While looking for a dealer online to buy an AD30HTC, I saw the Retro 50 head. Has anybody heard these? There's no info on the orange site (nor any info the ad30tc head for that matter).

I think it's another offering from the Orange Custom Shop ie PTP wired. I'm guessing it's a 50 watter with two EL34s.

Check the bottom of this page:
http://www.waddellsdrums.com/shopsite_s ... ge120.html

4 EL34's, single channel, ptp, handwired, footswitchable gain boost, master volume

http://www.proguitar.de has sound samples. It sounds amazing. Depending on price I might choose this over the ad30htc.

Why is the Orange site so out of date? It doesn't even have info on the ad30tc head, let alone a new product like the Retro50.

I wonder if that info is correct. Four preamp tubes and four EL34s in a single channel 50 watt amp. Possibly a misprint?

Maybe. It was pricey too and a special order. I ended up going with the AD30HTC which will be here tomorrow! I'm psyched.

The Retro50 and AD50 have 2 x EL34s. The specs look an aweful lot like these of the OD80s.
IIRC there is an Overdrive Series II that has a normal tonestack too. An Overdrive Series II 80W could be very close too these to 50Watt amps...

For very nice pictures of the 50Watt amps go to http://www.proguitar.de

We've been working on the products section the last couple of days. It's going through a bit of an overhaul. New pictures for each model, updated specs etc... The Retro 50 and AD50 info will be online later this week along with the rest of the updates.

The first of the new 50 watt custom shop heads have only recently become available in Europe and will not be available in the USA or rest of the world for another couple of months.

We'll keep you updated as things develop.

Thanks Bon, It can difficult to dig up info on Orange stuff, so the updated web site will definitely help people in their decisions. The forum already pushed me over the edge to get my ad30htc.
