Re: If You Could Only Use Three Pedals...
Can I raise a practical question at this point? Are we gonna do "Stonehenge" tomorrow?
Re: If You Could Only Use Three Pedals...
I'm re-thinking this. I think I need fuzz more than dedicated OD AND Distortion. As much as I love my OD-1, the Rat can cover both:Ade wrote:If I can live without delay/modulation and I don't count my tuner, my three are:
Boost - Tym Tone Boost
Overdrive - old Boss OD-1
Distortion - Rat ('85 WTFR reissue)

Fuzz - Tym Fuzz Munchkin (Ram's head big muff)
Got practice tomorrow. I'll see how I go!

Re: If You Could Only Use Three Pedals...
really really tough!
For my main project, and if tuners and channel switchers dont' count....
EHX POG2
Diamond Tremolo
Vox Delay Lab
For me thats pretty good... my current setup includes: 17 pedals!
I do plan on integrating my POD HD500 into my setup soon and using it to cut that down to about 5-6 pedals including the POD. Is there a reason why I have 5 delay pedals on my board currently? okay ones for looping....

Re: If You Could Only Use Three Pedals...
I've been eyeing this post for sometime now and debating with myself over the choices I have. My first reasonable thought was tuner-boost-wah but then I got smart so I'm going with:
Polytune / tuner
Mxr m132 super comp /compression
Dunlup gcb-95 / wah-wah
This way I can use the comp as just that or a boost seeing that there's enough juice in the output section.....the rv50mkll has its great reverb that can hopefully compensate for my loss of the dd-5 delay but I really find this question like choosing between T & A's.....you really never no what you'll end up staring at from week to week.

Re: If You Could Only Use Three Pedals...
To answer my own post, I found my self using less and less effects and even did a couple of gigs using nothing but an MxR micro amp or Pigtronix Class A boost into my Dual Terror. This way I could see which pedals I didn't need and which ones I might.
Although I could get by with a clip on tuner, I prefer to use a pedal--I like the ability to cut my signal off at any given moment.
The other pedal I realized I should probably keep is a chorus for those instances where I roll back the volume for cleaner parts (or when I have to mimic an acoustic part). It's also cool to rev up the speed knob for the Leslie effect once in a while.
Otherwise it's just me, my V, and my DT.

Yes, the Dual Terror is loud enough!
