Hello,
Owned an RV50 about 10 years ago. Great amp but too much for what I needed. Now I'm looking for an amp for recording some Orange tones ala new Corgan stuff to complement my plexi amps. I don't want to go down the RV50 road again; only because it's too much amp. Seems like the Root would be ideal but it's D/Ced. The OR15 is the perfect package but I want a more open sound and tighter bass. I saw the OR15 to Root threads and I'm handy with a soldering iron, but I can't find enough information online to confidently make the 3-4 changes. Then I thought, what if I got the RV50 MKIII and was able to do an OR50 switchable mod? That could justify having such a tank of an amp again. Is that even possible? I know the ORs are single channel...
In any case, can anyone recommend an amp tech in SoCal that would know how to do either an OR15 to Root or a RV50 and OR50 mod without having to take a crash course in Orange amp schematics?
Peace

I had a great tech a zillion years ago in Boston that moved to San Francisco but that probably doesn't help.
