Rocker 30 doing weird things.....HELP!!!

Post by JimmyOhio75 » Tue Oct 15, 2013 6:40 pm

My 2009 Rocker 30 head has started making weird noises and other things. After about 3-4 minutes of playing the volume suddenly drops by about half and the amount of gain goes down also. It simply makes the amp sound anemic and sterile. It loses all its punch and bite. I noticed that the input jack is a little loose. All the tubes are JJ's and they are nearly brand new. Any diagnosis? :?:

I'm guessing a faulty tube. Can you put the old ones back in and test?

The input jack should just screw in, unless you mean it is loose from the board. Then thats a problem. But I'd check tubes.

I already switched out all tubes with the old ones. Same problem remains. I guess I need to find a good amp tech.

It could be dirty/tarnished contacts on the tube sockets. I had a similar problem with mine when I replaced the stock tubes.

I worked the tubes in and out of the sockets a couple of times and I haven't had the problem again since.
