Errrrr....what is it with you guys & the bad monkey OD pedal? I don't use mine all that much but quite like it. Certainly it's not in the 'Hate it ' bracket, that space is reserved for a certain Blackstar HT dist pedal that had been modified by a monkey....probably a bad monkey....

You know how having a love-child or children from a secret affair used to be cool until the kindergarten cop ruined it by having loads? Same story with the BM.the gray area wrote:Errrrr....what is it with you guys & the bad monkey OD pedal? I don't use mine all that much but quite like it. Auto tune is an incredibly useful tool in moderation. Practically every album released by an indie or major label in the past couple years has auto tune on it. The thing is, they use it so slightly that you can't even hear it.Bandeapart wrote: I don't think there IS a good way to use it.. it's an annoying piece of gear, period. Just like auto-tune, it's just awful no matter how you use it.

weird hipster bands that use tons of guitar looping and guitar noise, or sooo much distortion for teh heavy metal that you cant even hear the guitar notes. that just is not music to me; kinda like my love/hate relationship with rap and dance musicz.

Loopers, especially when they are used when you can't get a band together to play your stuff.

I can't stand even when people use it in "moderation". It makes things too cleaned and polished... if you sing a little flat, learn to sing. Besides little mistakes are the soul of an album, when you go and make everything precise and perfect, it sounds like awful mainstream shoite.Ddjembe Mutombo wrote:Auto tune is an incredibly useful tool in moderation. Good gear for bad bands. I can't stand when you see a bad band open for a band you WANT to see and they're using thousands of dollars worth of equipment to pump out some really bad tunes.

I bet you like a few albums that have used auto tune and you don't even know it. I personally don't use it, but I know somewhere down the line, I will have to.Bandeapart wrote: I can't stand even when people use it in "moderation". Most producers are more concerned about the performance and feel opposed to the actual note. They know they can always go back and key in the right note and make it sound believable, but they can't go back in and add emotion.
