Re: OR100 Prototype

Ah the paranoia! I always get a bit of ground loop noise when playing at home but after swapping pickups on my strat recently I was convinced the noise was louder, checked with another guitar and was sure it was louder with that one too despite not having touched it. Even tried a different amp befor...

Re: Speaker examples

Quite a dramatic difference there! I'm sure for the right amp the tayden is a fine speaker but to my ears sounded pretty poor compared to the celestion and the wgs. I'm very happy with the V30's in my cabs and nothing I heard would make me want to change them. Interesting comparison.

Re: Delay multi-tool

Don't use the tc flashback X4 (have the regular flashback which is fine for me) but have had cause to take to the tc forum with a problem with their HOF mini pedal (not resolved, pedal returned), did notice however pages of comment, mostly negative about aspects of the X4 midi functions. Lots of fol...

Re: Ever been in "the zone"

Ah, the zone. . . .Yea I get there at times, mostly playing guitar but also while indulging other passions. Just the other night I got lost in the moment while making love to my beautiful wife, afterwards I couldn't believe that ten whole seconds had just disappeared.

Re: tried out a Line 6 Amplifi 75/150

Can you use one of these if you don't own an iPhone or iPad? As I understand it, you can use it for playing music from any Bluetooth device, and there are a range of sounds accessible with the on-board controls but to access the deeper editing functions and such like you need ios. They may have mad...

Re: tried out a Line 6 Amplifi 75/150

Good to read this review thanks. I looked at these and like the idea and looks. My 4yr old spilled juice on my hi-fi amp and I'm without a home stereo at the moment so considered this but I've never been very happy with line6 amp modelling sounds in the past. I would have been looking at the 75 but ...

Guitars the museum

Ahoy Swedish forum members ( or anyone else who may have been there), The wife and I have been discussing possible destinations for a wee city break and I have suggested Umea in northern Sweden, purely because it's the European city of culture 2014 of course. Any of you chaps been to see any of the ...

Re: Does amp modelling have a cult following?

Yea, I'm not a huge fan. I sometimes use the line6 stuff for recording just because it's there but it's not hugely convincing (especially the 'citrus' model which is horrible) I do hear good things about the amplitube orange models and the fractal system and kempler profiling amp are meant to be pre...

Really good review, thanks for that, makes me want a rockerverb quite badly! Some lovely gear you have there, have you done a review of the Suhr amp?

Re: Chameleon amps: Yay or nay?

Like most of the folk above I prefer to stick to a tone I like live and just adapt it with a few pedals or by rolling off the volume knob to suit the song but I like to dabble a bit while recording and am pretty keen to try the fractal axe FXII, I hear great things about it. Also, I'm like many guit...

Re: What style of music do you play with your Dual Terror?

Hi there, I'm afraid you're not going to get a nice reverb or delay sound with the gain up on the DT, any time based effect before the pre-amp sounds horrible with higher gain sounds. I use the fat channel as a dirty channel and keep the gain down on the tiny terror channel and just use reverb and d...
