Re: High Gain Guitarists
I always play with a LOT of gain on my RV50 MKII. But I insist on it being a tight and controlled sound so I run an EQ in loop and also a clean-ish boost in front. Completely superb sound for high gainy stuff, I like Mastadon, Gojira type stuff. Even though it sounds ripping, this does not stop me f...

Re: Unmatched EL84s?
Good to know that running unmatched is ok temporarily.
I sent an email to US Tech support. I bought it online at musicstorelive on ebay. I'll send them an email too. There's no way I'm shipping the amp back to them, but maybe if I send them the bad tubes they will send another matched pair.

Unmatched EL84s?
My two month old JJ EL84s that came in my OR15 gave up the ghost, kept blowing fuses. I put two extras I had around that are different brands, and not matched. I realize a matched set is recommended and best if possible, but is it going to damage anything running it with unmatched set until I can ge...

contact USA service?
Hi, trying to find an email link for USA technical inquiries. In the thread for this it says 'use the link in the forum'....not sure what this is referring to. I wanted to send them an email inquiring to see if it was possible to buy a demeter OT (and PT) for my OR15. I love the sound of it but was ...

OR15 pre into RV50 pwr
I am wondering if I can us the effects loop on my Orange amps in this fashion:
-run my guitar into my OR15 and go out the effects send
-run the OR15 effects send into the return of my RV50 MKII
I really would like to hear the OR15 preamp through the 50W EL34 power section.

Re: Amps as furniture
What an awesome idea, I love the way true musicians think, I applaude thee.
And the Orange amps are stylish enough to be a little conversation piece as well as furniture. I wonder what kind of furniture could be made out of some full stacks?

Re: Anyone else with an AD140 ?? (HTC)
I think the master volumes on Orange just have a different taper to them where they don't really pick up steam until they are over halfway, I have gotten to where I really like it, as it gives you a lot of room for incremental adjustments for low volume playing.

Re: Anyone else with an AD140 ?? (HTC)
I had a similar experience when I first got my Rockerverb 50Watt head. I was expecting to to blow out the windows like my Marshalls do, but I can take the master vol up to halfway and stand right in front of it. I could never do that with my JMP or JCM 50 W heads.

Re: RV50MKII EL34 to 6L6 swap
Thanks a.hun, you have had provided valuable insight on my questions! I did think the 6L6 sounded a little better cold, once I biased them up I thought they fuzzed up a bit. Regardless, I like the EL34s way better than cold or hot 6L6s, its the sound that makes me want to play and play and keep turn...

Re: RV50MKII EL34 to 6L6 swap
Thanks for the information Ronnie and Jondog
I've used kt77 in marshall with great results, and have heard great things about 6CA7s
At the moment I am blissfully happy with these Tonsol EL34Bs.

Re: RV50MKII EL34 to 6L6 swap
I was not really digging the 6L6 at all, put the EL34s back in to directly compare the two. The EL34s are back in this amp to stay, there is no comparison, they work way better for a nice harmonic breakup for rock sound. There must have been a reason they left the factory with EL34s....I shall not q...

Re: RV50MKII EL34 to 6L6 swap
After playing for a bit on with the properly biased 6L6GC I must admit the EL34's work better for this RockerVerb amp for my musical tasted than the 6L6GC. I'm glad I tried them but there is nothing about them that makes me want to keep them in. The EL34s seem to bring out the real rock and roll gri...

Re: RV50MKII EL34 to 6L6 swap
Well, switching it to EL34 mode for my 'cold' JJ 6L6GC tubes worked like a charm! It got them in the perfect range so I could set them anywhere I needed between 50-70%. This may be stating the obvious, this switch obviously allows you a wider sweep of bias range then you would normally have without ...

Could be too much tone for the camera lens to take in all at once.
