Re: Your favourite, most underated guitarist?
Murray Cook, also known as the Red Wiggle!
His playing is actually really good and tasteful and understated.

Re: Tiny Terror- Katana (?)
Not that a clean boost is a bad thing, it just adds gain, that's all. If I understand it correctly the signal goes... Guitar-cable-input jack-first triode of V1 (first 12AX7)-gain control-second triode of V1-V2 (phase splitter)-master volume-power valves (2 EL84s) It's possible the master volume com...

Re: OT: Let's hear about YOU!
38 years old, wife and 3 kids under 6 years old, (the kids, not the wife obviously). Live Sydney, OZ. (Australia) Playing guitar since 1992, not nearly as good as I should be as I don't work too hard at it or stretch myself at all. I just play electric and acoustic rhythm in church each week. I'm OK...

Re: NGD, our South American members will recognize one of these!
You have to have some pretty big cajones to play that type of music for a large crowd. not too big...otherwise sitting on one and hitting one could get really uncomfortable. those are really neat. i'm a percussionist in my soul i think...i bang on everything and particularly like djembe's. how much...

Re: NGD, our South American members will recognize one of these!
what exactly are those? i've seen them around and thinking they're kinda neat. the dude from boyce avenue uses one. It's called a Cajon (Ca-Hone) and gives bass, tom, and snare/rim sounds, with snare wires that are adjustable on the bottom, as well as a B-Band pickup in this case. If you mess aroun...

Re: Any Gretsch Love amongst rockers?
I played the Malcolm Young signature Gretsch last week when I bought the Boost n Buff through at TT combo, mostly clean. It's really nice, bright and clean, but you can darken it quickly with the tone switch. It can clearly rock hard, even completely clean! If I hadn't bought the Doozy already, that...

NDD, our South American members will recognize one of these!
First, my birthday and Christmas present. http://i233.photobucket.com/albums/ee175/doctorjay99/IMG_0193.jpg I can't do more than very simple 8th note rhythm on it: bass-tone-slap-bass-bass-tone-slap-tone, but I'm doing a brief course in two weeks, so will learn some more stuff. I'm also hoping it wi...

Re: OT: Telecasters
Van Cleef, where did you go in Sydney? The usual suspects for MIJ stuff are Global Vintage for second hand and Musicians Workshop Sydney for new (usually Tokai). The Jazzmaster is really the kind of thing that Global Vintage stocks. They're a really cool shop, and a pedal hound's delight. http://sto...
