Re: Is it normal to have to turn reverb up half way up
I’ve hear of the connections being (accidentally) reversed and causing that sort of problem. Shouldn’t hurt anything to try swapping them round to see if that might be the problem...

Re: Question on THD Hot plate - Impedence
I own a THD Hot Plate, 8 ohms. I am not clear on whether I can use this between a rocker 30 and PPC 212. My understanding from the THD owner's manual is that I can connect the rocker's 8 ohm output to the Hot Plate input and then connect the Hot Plate output to the 16 ohm PPC212 cab Anyone out ther...

Re: Nylon strings on a strat
It isn’t really new. Lightwave pickups have been used for quite a few years on some Sei and Zon basses among others. I’m pretty sure they have been around for rather longer than 10 years. This looks to be a similar idea. @ LPL: It isn’t dependant on ambient light. There are small LEDs and sensors fo...

Re: PPC112 and CR120
That Torpedo Captor, like basically every other attenuator out there, is for use with valve amp output stages, not solid state ones!

Re: Help with ohm cabs compatibility
Brilliant analogies from Rlw59 there. I've posted many times here on impedances with valve / solid state amps. About impedance matching always being best with valve amps, but if mismatching low direction mismatches being safer for the amp, etc etc. Forget all that though, Billy should just sticky th...

Re: Orange rockerverb 50 mains fuse
Yep, that definitely looks to be missing! :? Any decent electrical retailer should have them. just make you get the right (physical) size (length) and the exact spec for your mains voltage as printed next to the fuse holder. Odd though. I really hope that is the only problem with the amp, but if it ...

Re: PPC112 Speaker Swap
I really doubt you'd have any problems running a single H-30 with the AD30. Celestion (unlike most other makes) have always been very conservative with their power ratings, and their speakers rated for 'X' watts will basically handle amps rated for 'X' watts RMS even when the amp is fully cranked in...

Re: Tone Stack Bypass in AD15
To answer your ‘why not?’ question though, I just think too few people get the idea of keeping it as simple as possible. I’ve always ‘got’ the (volume control only) ‘Natural’ channel of the Rocker series amps, and often use other amps with just one tone control. But we may be in a minority there! ;)...

Re: CR60 - make it sound EPIC
It's amazing how a good speaker can make a huge difference. People often ignore that part of the sound chain, when it's just as important as the Guitar/amp/cabinet design parts. Or two speakers. Funnily enough though I like them I don’t think V.30s sound that great solo. Two or more are great, but ...

Re: 12” VOTW speaker, let’s solve the mystery of what it really is!
I'd be very surprised if it were a Celestion. It's a budget speaker they custom order from someone, likely someone who manufacturers them close to where the cabs are made (Ie. not in the UK). If you have a speaker, you can see if there are any markings on the cone, the frame, of the magnet that pro...

Re: switching between high and low inputs on OTR
thanks for the reply! i think you’re right, i’ve just never really used my volume control much- it’s always on full. As mentioned above, learn to use the volume knob on the guitar. Once you do this, you will never go back to leaving it full open all the time. It’s infinitely more useful when you, u...

Re: Which is your favourite Orange amp?
Rocker 30 combo. Even above the OR120 Overdrive. Not that I don’t love that too, but the R.30 is both terrific sounding and IMO super versatile. Keep finding new things to do with it, and TBH the OR hardly gets used these days in comparison. Hey, just surprised myself too, but thinking about it the ...

Re: CR120H Weird Volume Issue
Well odd. If not pushing the amp hard it (I’d say definitely) isn’t a speaker problem. Don’t know what it is though. Personally I’d take it back - sounds like a definite amp problem to me. Can happen very occasionally, up to Orange /their dealer to supply an amp without issues. I’d think it is a one...
