Re: Strange issue, needing opinions
Just chiming in to say mine does it too with hot pickups. I've been hoping for a schematic to be leaked to help find a way to modify the input. But its not bad enough to just go ripping around its guts all Willy nilly.

Re: which Orange amp?
The CR120H unless you find a sweet deal. Takes some fiddling for a chugga chugs tone. Roll the lows back and crank the mids with a ts type pedal pushing it. The standard metal way. Or put the dirt channel gain at about 9 o'clock and use a dirt pedal. Doing that I got a $40 mxr dirt box to "djent" du...

Re: Just played a CR60C.
I got mine about a year and a half ago. Still love it! Been using a bugera vintage 2x12 (v30 clones) and its almost as massive sounding as the 4x12 I used to use. Just more controlled on the low end. Still rips for doom. The only pedals I use are an OD and noise gate for metal tones, but I love roll...

Re: Cr120 ,cr60 home use
A little late to the party. But either works at low volume. I run the head version through a 2x12 and it sounds good real low. Just keep the master low amd use the channel volume to brong it further down and it works good. All it misses it the feel of the speakers pushing air. Either will be fine, j...

Re: Crush Pro 120 direct recording
I turn my master volume down, and run the effects send through my interface and use a cab SIM on my computer.. Works darn well. Couldn't stand amp sims, but some of the free cab sims are nice.

Re: What amp(s) do you own that aren't Orange?
Other than my single Orange CR120h... I have a Fender Bassman 60. No not a real Bassman, but the late 90s early 2000s bass amp. Got it for 35 bucks. Bought it at guitar center with their pro coverage. It broke. Got my money back and they said to keep the amp. Replaced the volume pot that was cracked...

Re: CR60C or CR120C?
The cr120, I have the head version, is heavier, but can also play whisper quiet. I've jammed out a 3am with it no problem. The master volume and channel volume are very usable. It doesn't jump from nothing to loud like a fender would. Either would be a solid choice. I only chose the head because I p...

Re: Orange-1 v Appliances-0
They are pretty resilient. Guitarist in a band I'm drumming has been using mine. Had the amp turned on and then plugged in the speaker cable to the wrong cab input. Luckily nothing bad happened but I shamed him good.

Re: Anyone manage to get more "saggy" tone out of their modern Orange amps?
I doubt it will translate to your amp, but my CR120h gets saggy as heck with the bass turned up a bit and the gain set up higher. Muffles the pick attack quite a bit.

Looks like banning is working maybe? Had a couple replies in my notifications but no replies because they got banned before I could check. We're getting some spammers who immediately resurrect old threads and post. Fortunately, not only can I ban them but there's now an option to delete anything th...

I tried that before. Lost everything. I don't log on much, but when I do I like things to work.

Re: Bolt on neck tip
My bolt on sustains longer than my les Paul. Which is already pretty godly sustain wise.
How can I fix that?
Haha just kidding. About the fix part
Never had sustain issues with my bolt ons.

Re: Can you get a good metal sound without pedals?
I play metal with less gain all the time, and without pedals. Though I use a CR120H through a closed back 2x12. Just under noon on the gain is an AC/DC level of gain, and I run it between 1 and 2 o'clock. Sounds way undergained on its own but in a band setting its clear and articulate and ballsy. Wh...
