Re: Is making an EP a realistic goal

I'm in a lucky situation as the guitarist/singer does 100% of the song writing. He will send me a rough draft and I will add my twist on it (drums). If I have any arrangement ideas I will makes notes or even chop things up in the daw before I send it back. We have always written songs this way so th...

Re: Delay Roundup

Timeline has been the longest in my life for sure. Got it when it came out and still own it. I also dig the Ibanez mini pink delay and the El Capistan. If I'm in the mood for delay I usually reach for the cap as it's easier to get a good sound and tweak it quickly (I really like the built in spring ...

Re: Your first guitar...

I've held onto mine! Got it 27 years ago!!! My parents got it for me with a Peavy Rage 158. Love the "Axe-Sac" haha. I remember the other guy in my class had the "Axe-Bra", basically the same but it just had straps and didn't cover the horns. Crazy to see wear on a guitar that was actually played fo...

Re: Anyone Still Rockin' an SP212?

Well the store was crazy busy so I just picked it up. Wow do I love the form form factor vs my current cab. With my tube head it's way too quiet. I had to crank both volume and gain to get a reasonable volume and at that point it's a farty mess. There is no way it would keep up with drums. It would ...

Re: Anyone Still Rockin' an SP212?

Thanks man. Yea talkbass really doesn't dig the iso design. I tried to get into Orange bass amps but neither the OB1 nor the TB did it for me. I haven't had the privilege of trying an AD200B though. I recently got a Traynor YBA100 all tube bass head and it's fantastic. I won't ever go back to solid ...

Re: Anyone Still Rockin' an SP212?

Cool thanks!

I'm currently playing through a neo 115 that won't fit into my back seat. It's a decent price and seems to be the MK1 made in USA with the wood skids and neo speakers.

I hear they are quite a bit quieter than traditional cabs. Any thoughts on that?

Anyone Still Rockin' an SP212?

Hello Everyone!

I just found an SP212 (Gen 1) locally for a decent price. Seems Talkbass wasn't huge fans of these. Just wondering if anyone is still rocking one and how they are holding up? I plan to use it with a Traynor YBA100.

Thanks!

Re: Fuzz roundup

My favorite fuzz only was the BAT Pharaoh.

My absolute favorite fuzz/dirt/noise pedal has to be the WMD Geiger Counter (non pro) :)

Re: One PPC412 vs two PPC212 closed back cabinets

I don't dig the 412 at all, you took the right path. After trying all of the main Orange cabs I think the PPC212CB is my favorite. Honestly the only cab I regret selling.

Re: NAD - Jury is out

Nice, I've not seen anything on these yet. The big one look pretty classy. I've been very interested in headphone jamming as of late. Prob since my brother moved in and my wife's side hustle is starting to pickup so she spends much more time right next to my practice room. I didn't think I played th...

Re: Rocker 30 Combo Crackle after palm mute.

Well now I don't know what to say the crackle seems to have stopped. I did notice there was a weird noise coming through the amp last week like a faint ticking. Maybe the power was acting up over the past few weeks? No idea at this point. I'll report back if it happens again and resume troubleshooti...

Re: Rocker 30 Combo Crackle after palm mute.

I checked the connectors/wire and it all seems solid. It's a bit strange. All of my guitars are in drop D and if I do an open string palm-mute there is no crackle. If I do a more "crunchy" palm-mute something like: x x 4 3 1 2 It crackles. Almost like it's caused by note dissonance if that makes any...

Re: Rocker 30 Combo Crackle after palm mute.

Nice! I had a similar issue with a bass cab. It was rattling/buzzing like crazy even at low volumes. I pulled it all apart, filled stripped holes, and retightened everything. It was still rattling so I assumed it was the logo (in the middle of the grill). I pryed the logo off and ruined it in the pr...

Re: Rocker 30 Combo Crackle after palm mute.

Is it possible to blow a v30? Haha. I really hope not this is one of the stock UK made ones. I cranked it way up on the natural Channel and no crackle so I don't think it's a blown speaker. Just seems to be with the gain up on the dirty side. If I roll back on the volume the crackle goes away. EDIT:...
