Re: Amps, Guitars, Drums a thing of the past????

inb4 rappers steal music. They don't. They pay for the sample they use (with the exception of Vanilla Ice, but he got sued. See how that works?). Hip-Hop requires real, honest, engineering and musical talent to produce (properly). I know this has nothing to do with what you said, but I wanted to ta...

Re: Saw Rush for the first time last night

If you like Rush, you should check out their DVD Backstage Secrets Rush-Snakes and Arrows Tour, it documents the goings on behind the scenes of their tour. It is pretty cool to see what goes into their show every night, such as the different lighting and speaker setups. I highly recommend :D Cooooo...

Re: E609 vs SM57

Shure SM57. I have 3. Plus a SM58. I use them to mic my drums and guitar cabinets. Uber reliable, with a slightly darker midrange (IMO). They don't call them "industry workhorses" for no reason.

Never used a Sennheiser though! Sorry, can't help there.

Re: Which delay for me

I'm currently using a DD3 and a Carbon Copy. I find I have the best of both worlds! :) The DD3 is super articulate, and the regenerations have a higher and more consistent output, which I like for my cleans, whereas the Carbon Copy is a lot darker (sometimes a little muddy though), but I find it sit...

Re: Gear isn't all that important, is it?

I think strings are the most important step in the tone chain... crap strings... crap playing... crap sound! Plectrum... $1.00 Guitar strings... $30.00 Fifteen different effects pedals... $3,000.00 100 watt amplifier & half stack... $4,000.00 Knowing that your cheap Yamaha RG copy (that is one eight...

Re: Resonating/Buzzing PPC412HP.. plus anger & venting (Beware!)

My local guitar shop is staffed with douche bags and neo-shred-metallists, who's extent of knowledge on a fret board is limited to the E minor scale and diminished arpeggios! My paranoia is leading me to believe they up-sold me on the HP because it was buzzing to begin with. (FYI they sold me the R...

Could also be the relative position of the earth against the sun, the lunar tides, the speed of Haley's comet... or how often your bowel movements are frequenting... too many variables to predict!

Just embrace the days it sounds good! Haha. :D

Resonating/Buzzing PPC412HP.. plus anger & venting (Beware!)

Hi Forum, After some recent posting. I was doing some experimenting with my amp to explore some of the suggestions posted by users. I was playing it MUCH louder than usual. And I noticed a lot of buzzing or resonance in my cabinet. I run a Rockerverb 100 into a PPC 412HP. The resonance began at abou...

Re: How wrong is this? NOW w/ pix and videoclip

I have just dropped the use of my loop. Too much hassle to run the extra two 20ft cable to and from my pedal board. Plus I can keep a little bit more tone, and a little bit less noise. I just had to sacrifice delay on my leads. Now I have to actually play the guitar properly. Hehe. I wonder how my O...

Re: Need a "third channel" on my Rockerverb 100

Wow. Thanks for all the contrasting opinions. I have a lot to think about. I actually had to take notes on a sheet of paper to collate all these ideas. Haha. I agree with pedals colouring the tone. And being a difficult job to demo the right pedal to complement my amp. All these amazing boutique sto...

Re: Rockerverb 50 FX Loop Wah issue

Pull all your pedals out of the chain, and plug the Fulltone Deluxe Wah straight into the front of your amp. Pull her out, then throw in the Crybaby. Do the same thing for the Hot Rod Deville. This way you can identify if there is a problem with your wah, or how your amp responds to your wah. My Roc...

Re: Need a "third channel" on my Rockerverb 100

Hi guys, Currently running all pedals in front of the amp. I had used my effects loop previously for my modulation, delays and reverbs. But for some reason my Boss DD3 wet signal would clip??? I don't use any effects on distortion so I put it all in the front. So much easier to set up, and I use les...

I was always wowed by Dream Theater's Train of Thought.

Overall production is immaculate. Might be the way those guys play too!
