Re: AD15 blew an EL84 then died

Hi all

Just a quick update. I found some fuses (ebay to the rescue) and my AD15 is back up and running. The failing EL84 must've taken out the fuse, and hopefully thats the end of it. Very happy to have my AD15 up and running again. Thanks for your help.

Re: AD 50, after bias and attenuator

Bias info should be in the manual. That was a joke right? https://forum.orangeamps.com/viewtopic.php?t=2148 I had a similar experience after getting my AD50 biased following a repair. Really seemed to wake it up. This is a noob question, but what causes an amp to "drift" out of its optimal point of...

Re: AD15 blew an EL84 then died

Thanks fellas for all your help. I've rung around my local music shops, electrical retailers and repair shops and no one has a T250mA. Two only had 500s or 1s and one bloke looked at me like I was weird wanting a 250mA fuse. Are these fuses not that common or do I just live in backwater...?

Re: AD15 blew an EL84 then died

Thanks sooner. My amp has the same on the back; just says 250mA but the fuse that was in it has the T prefix, i.e. T250mA. Does the T denote slow blow?

Ant, what are yours?

Re: AD15 blew an EL84 then died

Well I feel pretty silly! Found the fuse easy enough and yes it's blown. (I swear I looked before and couldn't see it from the outside - found from looking inside - what a twit!) Obviously went when the valve did. Now to find a replacement and see if that's all that's wrong. EDIT: It appears to be a...

AD15 blew an EL84 then died

Hi I know these posts are pretty common so I'll keep it brief. As the topic says my AD15 blew an EL84 then stopped working. I've replaced both EL84s with new ones and swapped the 12AX7s with good ones from my AD50 - but still nothing. Pilot light comes on but no sound at all. All valves glow and hea...

This is an interesting video, these amps almost sound the same to my ears with the Orange sounding just a bit better, what do you think?

That Orange tone is sublime!

Re: Best speaker/amp for bedroom jamming?

I'm surprised there's not more love for the Micro Terror or Micro Dark in this thread. Are they too loud? Tonally inferior? I've been tempted by them lately for the exact same reasons the OP states. Should I look elsewhere?

Yeah I noticed that too. My signature pics I thought were quite modest on the old platform but on my phone with this new look they're huge!

Re: The magic spot on volume knob

Next thing I am going to try is this http://pickroar.com/603/the-greenback-and-h30-myth/ (mixing g12h and g12m) Interesting read. I've on occasion used both my cabs together. They're both 16ohm so I use the 8ohm speaker outs in the AD50. They do sound massive and great together but for reasons I do...

Re: The magic spot on volume knob

Good to hear you liked them. One of the frustrations I find is the difference between rehearsal volume and gigging volume. I think it's pretty normal even without the change of speaker to experience some difference in the way the amp sounds and behaves when you get to really up the volume. Particula...

Yep, I'll add my voice to the chorus, at least on my phone I have to (and I can't remember the last time I used a desktop to view the forum).
