Re: Orange Rocker 30 Problem.

Or the other thing to do is to measure the AC voltage at the spade connectors where the thick yellow wires attach - TX4 & TX6.
If there is no voltage here with the amp switched on then the 6.3V tap is toast and it is new power transformer time.

Re: Orange Rocker 30 Problem.

Doh ! You have already done this!
If these test good, then check the voltage to ground (using AC setting on meter) on either side of the fs3 and fs4 fuseholders.

I have a Rocker 30 schematic, fuzzy but useable, can send it to you if you like.

Jon

Re: Orange Rocker 30 Problem.

It's not about the EL34s getting their 400 volts(plate voltage), it is about them (and the other non-glowing preamp tubes) getting their 6.3V heater supply. The Rocker 30 is a weird setup. It uses a mains transformer originally designed to supply a valve rectifier (5V heater) as well as preamp/power...

Re: Running JRT Send into Return of CR120C ?

My guess is the op likes the sound of the JRT preamp, but wants more power.
They'll get a tube preamp with a solid-state power amp, effectively.

Re: My Rocker 30 seems overly bright. Help with diagnosis.

Rocker 30s are definitely not bright-sounding amps. Between me and my bandmates we now have 4 Rocker 30 combos, and they all sound great, but to me they are only just bright enough! If when the effects loop is removed the amp is still too bright I'd have the tech check if the negative feedback loop ...

Re: Rocker 30C help please

What does it sound like on the 'Natural' channel? If this channel sounds ok then the power amp section is going to be ok and the problem is solely within the dirty channel preamp section.

Re: Phase when using two amps

amps with different amounts of gain stages in the amps themselves, will be out of phase with one another (odd number of gain stages versus even) Ah yes, but this assumes that (with valve amps) that the output transformer is connected such that it doesn't give 180 degrees of phase shift itself. Some...

Yeah just change the fuse to T630mA and move the voltage selector switch and it should be fine!

Re: Terror Bass 1000 - new preamp tubes doesn't fit?

I know what you mean about these.
The Tung-Sol 12AX7s I have are a bit of a tighter fit than the other 12AX7s!
Really nice low microphony tubes though.

Re: Phase inverter

I take it that this is in reference to you changing the PI tube in your AD50 to a 5751. Usually the phase inverter is unity gain The gain of the phase inverter stage depends on the type of phase inverter: 'Cathodyne' or 'Concertina' type phase inverters, such as those used on OR80/120, GT120 always ...

GUITAR - Pedal switch A/B - Cannel A: BaxBangeetar - Cabinet Pcc112 in one input Cannel B: Head or15 - two stroke - Cabinet Pcc112 in other input You definitely can't do this. Firstly, you should never plug two sources into the same cabinet! The only time you should have two leads plugged into one ...

Your mixer has built-in reverb, which I haven't seen before.

Old thread on this sort of mixer:

Oh, and the O1 Band played Reading Rock Festival in 1980, though I can't find out anything else about them.
