Re: CR120H vs OR15

I love my CR120h. Use it for everything from clean to metal.

What sounds really awesome is cranking the clean channel in to crunch, then boosting it with an od with the gain turned up a little bit on the pedal.

Re: Orange Crush Pro Effect Loop Level

Luckily it's not too noisey, I just run the Ns-2 out front to mute the guitar. I'm considering building a passive attenuater for it. I don't have to turn the master higher than 3 and a half for live use, so I still have pleanty of headroom to do so.

Re: Orange Crush Pro Effect Loop Level

No idea if that can be adjusted internally. But the effects loop level seems to depend on the channel volume. My ns2 is useless in the loop if the channel volume is over half. Which sucks because I like pushing the clean into crunch territory and match the gain channel to it.

Re: NOSAD

Glad to see you got it back!
More and more often I hear about gear being stolen, and it's depressing knowing a lot of those people worked there butts off to afford their gear.
At least there is some hope out there.

Re: (two amps in a single speaker) is this method safe?

I would keep a load on one amp the other plugged into the cab. Run an aby splitter from guitar into both inputs and find a mono dual female to single male adapter and run the fx send of each amp to that and plug the male end into the fx return of the amp the cab is plugged in to. Something like this...

Re: Is this right?

Could be dirty contacts in the fx loop. Some amps its normal, usually after its aged though. I would say contact Orange suppourt and/or exchange it for a known working one.

Re: Need help switching between gain settings on an OR15

EHX signal pad. A passive atenuator between guitar and amp. Set amp for high gain and set the signal pad at a lower volume. Just like the volume knob on your guitar. Switch on and off for low and high. Or a volume pedal, but not as quick and accurate.

Re: CR120H in action

Honestly, the Crush series handles metal better. At least for me. The Orange midrange bites hard, and makes it sound aggressive. I hate scooped tones. I've been keeping my mids anywhere from 2 o'clock to max depending on how my ears feel. I've been struggling all day with my tone though. I can't dec...

Re: CR120H in action

Ryan Bruce of Riffs, Beards and Gear has a pretty cool demo of it. Definitely check out the playthrough at around 2:10. I've played on one at sam ash and want one badly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VgrRg8DVBz4 I saw that demo. It gave me the idea to try one of these. I made the mistake of gettin...

Re: CR120H in action

I'm really digging the cr120h as well. It does everything I need, even metal with an od to tighten it. I couldn't afford an rv, but have no regrets with this. And even with one 4x12 it pushes some serious air. Cuts really well while not being stupidly bright. And no beaming high end!

Re: CR120 and a PPC212 for stoner rock?

I have the cr120 and it can do stoner and doom on its own just fine. Clean channel takes pedals well though, even with it cranked up for a bit of grit. I put the gain at about 2 o'clock and play the neck pickup on my l.p. and it growls. A bit more gain will bring out some fuzz too! Works great cover...

Re: CR120H input overload

I have. Same result. I just ended up lowering my pickups and it solved most of it.
Doesn't help that I have always been heavy handed

CR120H input overload

Is it normal to get a bit of overload on these with a hard strum? I know the clean channel is supposed to get dirty, but a hard strum on a les paul with paf styled pickups seems to add grit that is different from the tone of the clean being over driven. I only notice it on the clean channel.
Thanks!
