Re: Bax Bangeetar Amp Sim for recording?
There would (and should) be mixed reviews of every single cab sim output on every pedal device. At best the cab sim will be one interpretive approximate version of one particular 412 cab/speaker size & configuration.. Perfectly useful for PA use and for general recording.. but far below what you can...

Re: Overdrive/Distortion pedals that get close to a Rovkerverb
The answer to your question imo is the Bax Bangeetar. The getaway driver is nice and would look to add major flexibility to any rig, but it does not sound anything like an RV.. From the videos I have seen, the Catapult isnt anything i like to listen to at all, and i find it barely recognizable as ev...

TC BG-250 available in a 115 or 210 versions... I have previously had the 115 version and foolishly sold it
neutral response, good eq and $349 a great bass amp for the money

Re: TH30 vs Rocker32
Here are my thoughts.. clean channel: The TH30 has a beautiful, and very loud, clean channel with eq. The R32 has a fixed clean/natural channel EQ which may need an eq pedal to get the tone you want. Dirty channel: The TH30 does indeed have more gain due to an extra gain stage and if by "more modern...

Re: I tried to like Orange
This is the most pleasant and friendly bunch of folk in any forum i frequent, but I am sorry.. but the cheap jibes started with you and your first post... so go look in the mirror to see why you got the responses you did. Anyway, given how you refuse to engage in any discussion on improving your ton...

Re: Rocker 15 combo fuzzy dirt channel
try an overdrive pedal with little to no gain in front of the amp.. the OCD is a pedal which is very commonly recommended to go with Orange amps

Re: NBD Ibanez Mikro Short Scale Bass
fwiw, bass strings last almost forever..lol the flats have a deep tone but are pretty lifeless, great for jazz..the ground rounds have some bite.. but a much deeper woodier tone than the standard strings. enjot the bass..you got a great example! Congrats..!! its a sweet bass I put a set of ground ro...

Re: I tried to like Orange
I would just like to say that you didn't actually say what it was about Orange amps that you did not like.. But hey, I suppose 70% of the members of the Marshall forum could post exactly the same .. after all, it is very much more common than not for folk to have an "always on" OD pedal in front of ...

Re: cab advice
A total second for the 212 open back..
i have both the 212 open back and 212 closed back versions and you should only get the closed back IF..
a) you really need extended tight focused low end at the expense of an open mid range,
and..
b) you have the arms and biceps of a gorilla.

Re: More Gain From Orange Rocker 15 Terror
oh thx..i didnt know anyone ever got any real value out of those plots :) Perhaps I should look to probe at the natural channel volume wiper for the spectrum analyser.. Anyway, in the case of the R30, like you i simply looked at the schematic and judging by the cathode bypass cap on V1a and the inpu...

Re: More Gain From Orange Rocker 15 Terror
Not sure if its relevant but the R30 natural channel pre-amp stage has a flat response from below 20Hz. it is pretty unique among guitar amplifiers in that regard.. I am of course, not sure 100% that the R15/32 is the same schematic.. Assuming that the natural channel is flat, the OP's best metal to...

Re: Preamp pedals vs Regular Drive pedals
a preamp pedal should at least be emulating some sort of tonal curve of an amp, with at a minimum bass & treble controls.. most classic amps aka Orange, Vox, Fender, Marshall have some dip in the mids somewhere in the region from 540Hz to ~ 900Hz... a drive pedal, more correctly an over-drive pedal,...

Just stunned.. its awesome, particularly that reverb.
Perhaps voiced a bit different, but reminds me a bit of the cleans from the TH30
