Re: Rockerverb 100, Thunderverb 50, TH100?

Hey, be nice to the Chinese factory! IME the overseas oranges are pretty well out together, with the exception of the Terror Bass series. The only real issue are the tubes. They are pretty cheap ones with a high failure rate. Maybe tubes vary on the PRC models? Because mine came with 4 JJ EL34s whi...

Re: Moving from Peavey to Orange rig

I can only reinforce what the other guys are saying, DT and the 212 is the way to go. I gig with exactly that and with the gain set at 10 o'clock and volume around 2 (I use pedals for overdriven tones) it's way loud enough for gigging and can certainly match our drummer, even when he's getting carri...

Re: NPD TC Alter Ego

I have one too, love it, I mainly stick to the DMM setting. Only got to use it in a jam situation once, but the DMM setting sits REALLY nice in a band mix. I do wish that the modulation wasn't so over the top on the Echorec setting, but they nailed it on the DMM setting, I swear there is a very sub...

Re: Dual Terror Gain Manipulation?

Why not try some of the joyo pedals? They are meant to be clones of more expensive pedals- they're not but they get you in the same ballpark for very little outlay, if you don't like them you won't lose much selling them on. It's a cheap way of finding if you'd like the more expensive (and let's be ...

Re: Dual Terror Gain Manipulation?

I think your best option is to use a pedal to get you there . Or look at a TH30. +1. I love the sound of my DT for clean and crunch but use pedals on the clean channel to get a dirty sound I like, I find the high gain sounds on the terror amps a bit fizzy but love the amp otherwise and it does take...

Re: How do you string your acoustics?/

String choice depends a lot on what kind of stuff you'll be playing. I personally use light acoustic strings but I do a bit of soloing and string bending with the acoustic in our set, It sounds fine to me, especially since its going through the PA anyway. As has been said, going up to heavier string...

Re: OR15 questions

The 2x12 closed back isn't as portable as you may think. It's heavier and wider than most 2x12s. I cart mine around everywhere because it sounds great, but it's as cumbersome as many companies' 4x12 cabs. If you have to deal with any stairwells, it can be a real pain in the ass to wrangle solo. I c...

Re: The Guitar Cable Debate

Just been reading about these new analogue fibre optic cables that were previewed at NAMM. First thought, probably be pretty bright sounding, second thought, how much?? Not for sale yet so no price available but I fear not cheap. Probably not $6000 though, mad!!

Re: OR 15 / DT upgrade?

Not played through the OR15 but upgraded from a tiny terror to a DT and am very happy with it, gigged with the TT for a good while but the extra headroom and power from the extra 15 watts made a big difference. The fat channel for me was just a bonus as I love the TT sound but it's a good option to ...

Re: noisy HOF mini

Sounds like you need something else. I'm going to be on Harris / Lewis for a couple of days end of May, beginning of June. Could maybe bring my EH HG+ over for you to try over a cup of tea! :) Andy. Thanks Andy, just ordered the HG nano, looking for a smaller pedal as 'board space is limited but ca...

It got really good reviews and Guthrie Govan uses one! Meant to work with any standard 9v supply. And does. . .sort of :?

Re: Orange Dual Terror ?

Nice purchase, you won't be disappointed, I use the same set up. I usually play through the TT channel with gain about 10 o'clock and volume where it's needed for the venues we play (pubs, clubs and smallish halls usually) which is normally around 2 o'clock. This gives me a nice pretty clean tone an...

Re: noisy HOF mini

The pedal doesn't come with a power supply and doesn't take batteries so depends on a third party supply. I do use decent cables and patch leads, not had an issue with any other pedals. As Billy suggests it sounds like some funny loop going on, especially since it happens to others. As Ant rightly p...

noisy HOF mini

I have a TC hall of fame mini which I really like apart from a low level but noticeable squeal when switched on. The noise almost disappears if I use a separate power supply but I shelled out quite a bit for a decent power block which works really quietly and well with all other pedals, including a ...

Re: Upgrade to an orange 2x12 from a THD??

I can certainly recommend the open back 212, great sound from it. My brother traded in his closed back for the open back just because it was such a beast to transport and actually prefers the sound of the ob. I can carry mine with one hand if required. It's also quite a bit cheaper, far east made I ...
