Re: OT: what bands/albums are you hooked on lately?

Atomic Rooster (no, that's not a euphemism). ***DOES NOT COMPUTE*** >>> OUT OF CHEESE ERROR, REDO FROM START <<< Edit: recently I have been mostly liking the 70s-esque dulcet strains of The Sword. Even though I am jealous of their lovely hair. Fat Orange sound content as a bonus! For Van Cleef and ...

Re: RV50 Old VS RV50 mkII -- My Review

are you sure it's the difference between the amps, or just the two different types of tubes? try putting some El34's in the Mk1 (or some 6v6s in the Mk2), and see if you get the same result. i've always preffered EL34's. I don't think that the RVMk2 sounds like a Marshall imitation just because it ...

Re: Won band contest tonight

Big congratulations! However, I have to say... I hate, hate, hate band contests. They turn music into some kind of shitty competition. I blame the Xfactor, ____'s got talent etc for the resurgence in the battle of the bands crap. Music is utterly subjective. A battle of the bands is as relevant as t...

Re: Not who I'd pick for a signature guitar...

If the biggest complaint you have about being able to choose a guitar is the amount of choice, then the manufacturers are doing something right ;)

Re: Not who I'd pick for a signature guitar...

The thing is - bad ideas are fine; they're the precursor to innovation. Some of the bits in the Firebird X may actually end up in a nice product for some folks. Another "artist signature" model isn't a bad idea, it's good marketing. As someone pointed out on MusicRadar, Gretsch made a Monkees signat...

Re: Not who I'd pick for a signature guitar...

I just find Gibson so incredibly laughable these days. It's as if they're purposely doing the opposite of what the people want and like they're purposely running the brand name into the ground. Do they live in a cave with their hands over their eyes, and their ears squeezed tightly between their kn...

Re: Rocker 30 v OD80

Not a problem. Rehearsing tomorrow, so I'll see what my strength is like after that (it's a loooooong few flights of stairs as it is with two guitars and a pedal board!). The major differences in the MKI vs MKII I find in the clean channel anyway, so the dirt should be a decent comparison even if I ...

Re: Rocker 30 v OD80

I find the R30 much brighter than either of my RV50s if that helps!

I can record a comparison if I can be bothered bringing the RV50 home from the rehearsal room (though the MKII is at home if you can live with that).

Most folks with Paypal accounts can accept card payments from non-Paypal members through their processing gateway. It's an opt-out thing if I recall correctly.

Re: Which Orange is really really really for you?

Reading some of the comments apparently it was a device for the japanese to describe what to do in a rape situation? Very weird. I hope this doesn't show up in my dreams. Nah, that's rubbish. It's an arthouse film, lots of odd stuff in there far beyond what these folks are reading into this scene. ...
