Just thought I would quickly post that the VT1000 doesn't seem to test the JJ EL844 correctly. I tried to test my pair and the tester gave a "Fail" and a 2 Matching rating. I had already tested 2 EL34s and a few other EL84s and the unit seemed to operate OK ... The EL844s were working correctly the ...

The guy did mention oil (from what I remember) ... Could it be a static electricity problem?

Actually, as far as I know, the Dark Terror does not utilize an inductor choke, only a resistor. I would think this change would make a difference in the power section.
