Re: Patch Cables Moulded Plugs v Solderless

I had heard good things about the Planet Waves cable kit which you make yourself, along with the ready made ones....that may be the way to go!

Either way, thanks for the suggestions guys!

Patch Cables Moulded Plugs v Solderless

Hi all, I am considering getting a 'decent' set of patch cables, however I am unsure on which route to take..... Opinion seems to be.... a) Not worth the money b) Solderless are more unreliable and prone to issues over time as not completely seasled units. With this in mind i'd value your thoughts o...

Re: Overdrive distortion pedal for AD30 ...Suhr Riot? OCD?

For Overdrive/boosts for solos etc ive been using a Gearmanndude Luther Drive which I think is a take on a handwired Tube Screamer, the twist is that its a bit brighter than a standard TS9/808 which works well with the warm tones of the AD30...ive also used a TS9DX with the Keeley Mod, this gave loa...

Re: Calling all AD140htc owners

This is a cool subject, I love my AD30 head, however when I use different cabs/speakers when either on the road or when I am rehearsing I really find that Orange amps more than any other brand really differ from cab to cab in terms of the tones you get.....ive never found the difference to be so sig...

Re: Humbucker recommendation.

I would go with either......the BareKunckle Riff Raff's which are a replica of the type of pickups you would have found in a mid/late 60s humbucker equiped Gibson guitar, I have neck and bridge units fitted to my 335 and they sound great! Im also a big fan of the 57' Classics from Gibson, great tone...

Re: AD30 Twin Channel Amps and Mag Reviews?

The Mark Ford part is great, awesome tones with that Strat! When people demo the amp they dont think about maxing the volume and taking the gain down to get that clean sound, however the overdrive sounds are fantastic so i'll let em' off......I think people expect the cleans to just 'be there' if th...

Re: MXR Carbon Copy settings without FX loop?

Im running a vintage Boss DM-3 Analoge Delay in front of my AD30, its a dark (ish) delay but doesnt cause any issues regards tone......well, only the good type of issues.....sounds great when I boost the gain of the amp for solos too!

AD30 Twin Channel Amps and Mag Reviews?

Hi all, I was wondering if anyone had any links to good footage and audio of the AD30 in either head/cab or combo format......there are obviously a few on youtube but not many that I feel do it justice.....espicially the clean tones available from the amp...... Im also looking for a copy of the Guit...

Re: Recommended pots and caps for 335

I almost always use a 335 or 335 styled guitar and have upgraded pickups but never got round to sorting the pots and electrics on my guitars, I have some friends who have upgraded pots and electrics and have benefited both tonally and from a reliability point of view..... If you are going to upgrade...

Re: AD30 with JCM800 4X12...not so good.

I have used my AD30htc through both Marshall, Laney and Fender cabs, I have found that it sounds really different according to the speaker cab you put them through, I know this happens with any head/speaker combination but I feel that the sound of a Orange varies the most drastically in comparison t...

Re: BIGGEST Gig Ever????

My band The Dirty Tricks, recently headlined the second stage of a festival, the crowd sized varied throughout the gig, it wasnt helped that Frank Turner went on the main stage 20 mins into our set but we still kept a good crowd! The stage sound was amazing too, as was the front of house.....from wh...

Re: Tiny Terror retube.....could it get close to the hardwired?

Cool, Thanks for that, I think I would be really happy with the standard Tiny Terror, I had also considered the Dual Terror as there would be slightly more headroom. I may also consider modding and fitting mustard caps etc at a later date, I have a friend who is very good with a soildering iron! Fro...

I tried the unit for just a few seconds with an adaptor for uk use and it sounds great, the only issue I had wa...

Tiny Terror retube.....could it get close to the hardwired?

Hi all, I have no real experience of using the Tiny Terrors but have heard them and think they sound great....I have heard the odd clip of the HW version and as with the stock version its fab too...however, with a retube do you think I could get close to the sound of the TTHW with a stock TT? (sligh...
