The TC pretty much works the same way, it doesn't have a "clean and distortion channel" of such; you can dial in what you want keeping in mind the limited headroom. I've got an Orange cover for my AD30TC 2x12. Its not that thick and has what feels like a very thin layer of padding.

The main reason I got it was to avoid the white tolex turning into a dirt colored tolex.

I went on a tour of the Maton factory a few years back and got to play a stack of their guitars. Awesome sounding acoustic guitars, I didn't play any of their electrics.
