Re: Back to the forum.....Question about the TH30!

1. Despite what other people have said... i went through 3 of these things before i got one that was solid... The shop even sent me a return that orange claimed there was nothing wrong with... A few days later that wasnt working properly. But under warranty and stuff you shouldnt have a problem. Yes...

Re: Stock tubes in the TH30...decent or should they be replaced?

Currently the output valves in mine are stock. Ive got a combination of Rubys, JJs, sylvania 12at7s in there, its a marginal improvement. Just got some JAN sylvania 5751s in the post i cant wait to try out for the cleans and for lowering the final gain stage a touch. Ill let you know how they sound....

Re: TH30 and OD pedals

I gots me a catalinbread silverkiss with my th30. Works lovely. Does have a 3 band EQ though.

It hated my barber dirty bomb...

It absoloutely loves my rangemaster! (Like everything else with El84s) If you can get yourself a RM clone this amp eats em up for breakfast.

Re: TH30C problem

My 2nd TH30 head did something like this, it was fine at first, then the dirty channel sounded thin and way too quiet, i figured out there was a loose joint on one of the preamp valve sockets, if i pushed the valve into the socket and held it the amp would sound like it should. If i let go it'd soun...

Its fine for classic rock, the th30 is a big seller for the stoner crowd. Which all sounds like sabbath :p:.

Re: PPC212 or OB

Personal preference. Open back will have looser low end, sound less directional and focused, and the speakers are set diagnally which is probably better than blasting your ankles away. Its also lighter and much less cumbersome. The closed back will be tighter, more consistant QC. Sludge metal would ...

Re: Laptop choice? Way ot

its pretty easy to get mac running on a pc with one of the hackintosh distros. Lion is now easier than ever to get working on PC. Granted you have to make sure your pc isnt 10 years old like mine. My college has the new i7 imacs. As a PC user for the whole 19 years of my life those things would pile...

Re: Possible TH30C Clean Channel Issue

Could be a faulty valve/volume pot. Had a similar issue with my th30... Where the pot wasnt doing much of anything.

Orange should replace it for you.

Re: TH30 enroute

Preamp valves will make more of a difference. I replaced mine pretty sharpish. The stock EL84 are probbaly gunna be there a while, shuguangs EL84 arent too terrible. ^Orange deffinately shipped mine with shitty valves, most of them where no namers, and more shuguangs. Kinda lame since they ship the ...
