Re: I'm no Mesa Boogie fanboy, but this electradyne sounds great

I have an Electradyne head, to be honest, i'd say the Rockerverb and the Mesa probably get about the same ammount of playing hours! 2 Really different amps. I find the Mesa has a sweeter more singing tone when pushing the gain, although it can't get the ammount of saturation the RV can, it also does...

Re: I love my boogie

XD

It's funny you say that about getting the RV as it was similar the the Mesa.. The reason i was so happy with my Electradyne is because it reminds me of the Orange with a dark clean tone and thick gain! Similar but different, 8) i love my boogie too.

Re: Bareknuckle Pick ups

I've got a slowhand set which are a great improvement over stock Fender Vintage Noiseless, much more responsive and the 2/4 positions are sweeter. Bridge pup is really harsh though, i should probably wire it inot the tone control for the middle.. I also have a pair of Buckers which were custom made ...

Ahhh i remember in the late 90's when i first started buying Total Guitar, it was Crispian Mills featuring in some of the Orange amp adverts inside, it was the first time i ever saw Orange amps and thought.. myyy god, they look incredibly un exciting.. oh how i was wrong

Re: Gear isn't all that important, is it?

I have tooooo many guitars, and have many more on my wanted list! If the money is there then make the most of it i think! If you want to own a certain guitar, amp or pedal then work to get it :) parting with them is very hard though, i've managed to sell... none. As for obsessing over gear rather th...

Re: Wax pottet my pups today

 Maybe you did it better like that anyhow dude, on further research, apparently leaving the covers on can take some of the response and character away from the pickup, as usual it's probably a negligable difference though! From what i can gather the cover can actually cause microphonics as it t...

Re: Guitar life and fret wear/life

PRS is looking like it could do with a light dress after 1 year from buying new, i have a scalloped strat which has worn very evenly but worn quite a lot, i think one dress, and the next time will be a re-fret, it's 4 years old but has had a crap load of play! This one worries me as scallops seem to...

Re: OT: Guitar pet hates

Yeeeeap annoys me too.. not only is it visually distracting, even when i'm roughly tuning each string while re-stringing the clattering does my head in  One of my old guitar tutors used to fold his away from the headstock and then back in somehow to create a little triangular shape.. can neve...

Re: "Fool" questions

Years ago i looked into Ed Roman too.. The simple fact that he couldn't help but slag off other guitars and how poor they are in comparison to his was enough to let me know the guy is an ass :) he strikes me as a greasy car salesman type.. only but for guitars.

Re: PRS.....

I have to say my PRS is the easiest guitar to play that i own, it's probably the best sounding too, to be honest.. It's just getting over the price i guess, but a good one is worth it, i tried out quite a few before i found one i really liked! If you can find one with an unfinished neck, try it, i f...

Re: Wah pedals!

Just got this.. Awesome wah, chose it as the "jimi" setting is exactly the kind of wah sound i was after!.. it's a fairly mellow wah though, no shrill top end! I think if you tried a boutique/designer wah you'd be pretty impressed with the perfomance over something like a standard VOX or CryBaby. My...
