...heres the current pedal board to go with it https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49509774252_f19b443671_b.jpg Congrats on the AD30! 8) I'm seeing a Hudson Broadcast there. They are fantastic, yeah? (I have two slightly different versions, sometimes one just isn't enough. Also their superb Sidecar...

Re: Why/how did the forum lose its popularity?

In its heyday, it was very popular. Easily in the tens or twenties as for new replies or topics. Totally. I used to be here almost every day, sometimes for hours. Plenty of active discussions. Then I started playing out more again. When that dropped off I'd kind of lost the habit... Andy.

Re: What Made You Choose ORANGE?

Favourite colour, needed a bigger amp for bass, had to try the bright orange thing in the shop.

That was in 1980. Still have that thing, couple of smaller things too.

Re: OT: NAD

Hi Billy, The 6BM8 isn't just a power valve. It is a triode + pentode, so can do both power valve and preamp duties at the same time. ECL82 is an equivalent. I've got 2 of them (+ a couple of more standard others) in my little old 10W rated TOA PA amp, and that thing sounds superb. Fortunately these...

Re: Best Orange Board for me

Getting there, we are very loud, we're Space Rock/Stoner band big drums/riffs etc, hence why I want a Rockerverb vibe in there, unless I can put a pedal up front to give me that same tone. Well there is the BaxBangeetar. Highly recommended! https://orangeamps.com/products/fx-pedals/bax-bangeetar/ A...

Re: AD15 - Speaker change?

+1 on the G12H-30. For me a pretty perfect match for Oranges. The V.30 is good when there are 2 or more of them but just don't quite do it for me as a singleton. The current H-30 'Anniversary' model is pretty much the standard model, and nothing wrong with that. Indeed, the colour of the plastic mag...

Re: PULLING TWO POWER TUBES IN MY AD 30 HEAD?

Big difference from most Mesa / Marshall / etc amps is that the AD30 is cathode biased, not fixed biased. With fixed biased amps you can pull 2 (paired) output valves and just bumping the output (speaker) impedance one step keeps everything groovy. With cathode biased amps, as mentioned, it isn't so...

Re: Bax Bangeetar - Cabinet Sim Issue ?

That is a clear fault, and a strange one. The only difference should be the tonality of the two outputs, everything else should work (simultaneously) on both outputs.

Re: Using a Bax/2 stroke with cr120h

Andy, have you ever used it as a preamp type unit? Wondering if it would do straight into a PA, as a back up plan. Absolutely. For guitar I'd (almost certainly) use the speaker emulation output. For bass I'd try both and see which suited best. I'd be tempted (like with a full amp) to set it up and ...

Re: Overdrive/Distortion pedals that get close to a Rovkerverb

Funnily enough I just came across a Tech 21 ‘Oxford’ new + boxed in a local (Amsterdam) shop for Eur 180. Was almost tempted, but why? I already have a BBg! LOL

Re: Overdrive/Distortion pedals that get close to a Rovkerverb

Don’t often comment here now, but... Big fan of the BBG. Did a fairly extensive review of it here: https://forum.orangeamps.com/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=54057&hilit=Bangeetar It is SORT OF based on the RV, can get even higher gain levels. But I’d say it is by far the most versatile (and great soun...

Re: Using a Bax/2 stroke with cr120h

Don't have the CR120H specifically, or the 2 stroke, but do have the MXR 10 band and Orange Bax Bangeetar. The MXR is a decent EQ, can be very useful. The BBG is much more an amp in a box, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Works well on it's own or with any amps (valve or solid state) I've use...

On the R.30C, not trying to be funny, but is it the original speaker or a different type? Just a thought, but speakers can make a huge difference...
