Re: OT Suggestions For a Live Video Cam Upgrade?

I think the Zoom Q2n might be a good option for you, around that budget. Otherwise look around for a secondhand Sony A6000 with the Sony ECM-XYST1M external mic. Less easy to use, but the 1080p footage is still really solid. Battery life might not be as great, considering the larger sensor. So you’l...

Re: Distortion: Germanium or Silicon?

Sorry for not replying! Depending on volume. I like the natural channel when there’s an opportunity to go full-blast, if it needs to be a bit more manageable I go for the dirty channel: gain between 11 and 1, volume to taste. The pedal is very flexible, easily gives you some of that gainy-feeling th...

Re: Distortion: Germanium or Silicon?

So, I hit up Catalinbread and they pretty much said the same thing. Germanium will sound smoother, saggier and less direct. Having said that, I went ahead and ordered the Silicon version since I already have a Germanium fuzz pedal. All I can say is, wow! Super happy about this pedal, such a nice dir...

Distortion: Germanium or Silicon?

So, Catalinbread have two versions of their Karma Suture pedal. One is Germanium, the other is Silicon. https://www.catalinbread.com/index.php?category=all&product=karma-suture-ge https://www.catalinbread.com/index.php?category=all&product=karma-suture-si What differences do you guys think I can exp...

Re: Speaker for Crush Pro 120

Might be a bit much for bedroom playing, I think. Maybe check some prices on attenuators and how that works as far as wattage goes. Might get you the best tone per decibel.

Re: Fender Rev. cab/speaker advice...

 I highly appreciate the help though! I’m probably going to end up ordering a cab from Cathredal Cabs, they look frikkin cool. And they’re made in Belgium, not far from me. I don’t think 2x G12H30 would be able to handle a 100w amp though. Excellent point! Unless you can attenuate, that would b...

Don't do it.

It's too big a mismatch, forget that fire / chimney story.

You're usually fine up double mismatch (16o amps into 8o cab, or 8o amp into 16o cab), but here, the mismatch wouldn't be safe.

Just wait until you have the correct cab.

Re: Fender Rev. cab/speaker advice...

Thanks! When you’re saying small/big chimney, you’re referring to the impedence numerically? As in, big fire (16ohms amp) and small chimney (4ohms speaker) = bad. I don’t want to rewire my current 2x12 though, I keep that for my R30c. The fender will get it’s own dedicated 1x15. I still have a emine...

Fender Rev. cab/speaker advice...

Hi, everyone. Don’t worry, I also have an Orange since day one! ;) So, haven’t been actively playing for a while now since band-life stopped. Been meaning to pick it up again and always wanted a higher wattage american amp to ABY with my Orange R30c. I’ve been out of it for too long to fully remembe...

Some overdrive pedals have Sag control, you might want to look into that. I'm using the Fairfield Circuitry Barbershop, works great for me.
