Re: OR50 or Rockerverb 50 MK 1 or 2?

+1 for what Jondog said.
I’ve had the OR50 for probably 9 years.
Set it for a great rhythm/ crunch tone, use a couple pedals to boost for solos. I have used it with no pedals, adjusting with the guitar volume, but enjoy a little variety that the pedals can give.

Re: Anyone used a Germanium treble booster before an Orange amp ?

I have it early in the chain. Must have read somewhere that’s where to put it and haven’t tried it anywhere else.

Re: Anyone used a Germanium treble booster before an Orange amp ?

I have a Java Boost , a germanium pedal, I run with my OR50. With the amp set at edge of distortion or a little higher it is a great sound . Not my go to boost pedal but good for a very specific sound. Not good at describing sounds but kind of old school in my mind. I use it on Zep and some Clapton ...

OR50’s take pedals well.
Set it for edge of break up, put your favorite pedal in front.......and there you are.

Re: Convince me to keep my TH30

I played with a guy who had that line6, I don’t know if it so loud but it has a very piercing sound. Ice pick sound straight to the scull. It cut through everything. Playing with him was the only time I ever walked over to another guys amp and turned it down during a gig. Never played a TH30 but I w...

Re: OR50 and distortion pedals

I have an OR50 and feel it works quite well with pedals. I do run it with a moderate crunch sound, and have a treble boost, EP boost and even used my old Proco Rat with success. You can’t run the amp with lots of distortion and get very good results from you pedals. I think it’s true for most amps, ...

Re: Treble booster with an OR50?

Mine is a Keeley Java Boost. 2 knobs, Tone and Level . There's a mini toggle switch too, but I can't remember what it does. I played with it once, set it and left it.
As far as sound, everything Nick said above holds true for me.

Re: Treble booster with an OR50?

I own both an OR50 and a treble boost and everything you read above is true.
Very specific sound. I use it for some songs ( like Zep tunes) but not my go to boost pedal.

Re: Always on pedals - your thoughts?

Kind of the same, ep boost always on ... for certain songs.
When I feel the bottom end needs to be tighter, and who doesn’t need a tighter bottom end, I’ll leave the ep boost on and turn the guitar volume down. The rest of the time use as a solo boost.

Re: new to me OR50

I think the OR50 takes pedals very well.
I used the EP boost, a Keeley Java treble boost and even used my old 80’s Proco Rat.
Keep the distortion down on the pedal and it sounds great.
