One other thing that might help; but might be a little off topic... If you dig the sound of the Vox AC30 (which most of us do); but want to keep the big sound that your Orange produces too. Try an EQ pedal in front or in the loop of your Orange. You have a Rocker 30... so it'd be out front. Boosting...

I've owned both standard and historic LPs and, in my opinion, the historics are generally better. There are good standards though and if your's resonates well then it might not be a bad idea to check out other electronics. My recommendation to start would be to try out a set of Seymour Duncan Phat C...

I use both a TC G-System and a Fractal Audio Axe-FX in the loop of my RV50. Both sound superb! If I were to give a recommendation though, it would be the Axe-FX. That thing is probably the best rack unit out right now. Some say better than Eventide. Not too expensive either; but there's a wait list....

You could use a Palmer PDI-09. It's a direct box that goes between your amp and speakers or cab. A lot of people say that it works great.

Originally, I had the combo and the sound is definately great! I also used the combo with an Orange 2X12. Very nice! About a year ago, though, I opted to buy the head version. And... subsequently, bought a 4X12 too. There is no comparision! The head and either the 2X12 or 4X12 just sounds plain mean...

Hey Dave... you using the RV50 in the Gsystem's insert loop? If you are there will be a noticable difference than either going from the direct out of your gsys to the amps input or using the RV50 in any other gsys loop (other than the insert). I came across this early on too and was confused for a w...

I use the RV50 with a G-System and the switching works fine. I use a TRS cable from switch output one to the Channel switch input on the amp. Once you do this, access the switch menu and choose switch A. Scroll through the various config choices (ie 000C, 00CC and so on) until you hear the amp switc...

I work with exactly the same ideas in mind for gain steps. I also have the RV50. Here's what I do with great success... 1.) Clean is just the RV50's clean channel with volume at 11:00. 2.) "Sting Clean" is the RV50's clean channel with a Menatone Top Boost in a Can set to taste. 3.) "Jangle" is the ...

I know that the '60s tone is well represented with the Vox AC30. If you need a bit of that sound, I highly recommend trying the Menatone Top Boost in a Can (TBIAC) pedal. Works really well with my RV50 on the clean channel and gets me pretty close to that sound. Definately not gonna get you a perfec...
