I've been using a round button type from a Roland blues cube I had sitting around. I can't wait till the orange one comes out. How freakin long could it possibly take them to design a footswitch? It just reinforces my Oliver Stone theory about Orange - that it's like 2 guys sitting around as a marke...

Here's my tube experience with AD30tc. Preamps: NOS GE 5751's, warm and round, thick sounding, not harsh at all. It tames the amp a bit. JJ 12ax7's were too dark for my taste. GT 12at7's also mellow it out a bit, but sound decent. Output El84's: JJ's too dark, Ei's nice and bright, EH's very buzzy, ...

I have the ad30htc. The two channels are similar, but different. Channel 2 is brighter and has more gain. There is no master volume for both channels, they're independent. Personally, I find channel 1 doesn't cut with my 2 guitar band, so I end up using channel 2 all the time and I clean it up with ...

I wouldn't really call the holy grail a toy (the danelectro maybe). Lots of people don't have the money to buy an outboard reverb nor do they want the added carry/hassle factor. Some amps take pedals better than others. The orange is very particular. You might just need to try different stuff until ...

So are you saying to sometimes happens with the Marshall or all the time? Your post is kind of confusing. What kind of marshall is it? Anyway, it could be the preamp tubes. Is it on one channel or both? Try swapping them out and see what happens. If it's only one channel, just take the frontmost tub...

yeah, i agree with ecto, it's probably not a bias problem. If it's just standard hum, it's probably your guitar (single coils?) or a ground/interference problem. If the hum is more noisy and screechy (aka microphonic), it could well be the tubes. Try this, unplug your guitar cable from the amp, if i...
