Have you tried a Maxon OD-820?
It is the very best I've found.

Re: Help me find my kind of overdrive pedals?
I went through the same process you did a few years ago and found my holy grail OD. I've got some really good selection at the stores in my city so I was able to audition about 10-15 different OD and dist pedals one after another and back and forth to narrow down which sounded best. Having them all ...

Re: tt hard wired
Of course, it sounded 1000X better!  Although I wasn't blindfolded I did have someone switch them without me knowing which one. The difference was more subtle as mentioned in my original post...hw was more appealing to me but your mileage may vary depending on the type of tone you like....

Re: tt hard wired
that's similar to my experience...bought the TT and then found out there was a hw version, returned the TT and ordered the hw...the store actually gave me a fantastic deal on the hw too. This is one sweet amp, I really love it. Yeah! It is so great sounding, I highly recommend it.

Re: Tiny Terror sounds very "harsh"..?
Being a dark sounding amp to begin with I'm surprised that it sounds harsh. If you have the gain really high, try turning down the tone knob to compensate - especially with single coil pups. Otherwise it is likely to be your cabs. I'm using an old mesa rectifier 4x12, the speakers are well broken in...

Re: %$#%$@&^&^$%^%&^%&$$$$$!damn!
I'm using a radial ABY switcher, http://www.tonebone.com/re-bigshot-aby.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; It is totally passive (not powered, ie. not even an LED or anything extraneous that saps signal) and seems to me very transparent. It is dead quiet in terms of noise. It also ha...

Re: Recording with Tiny Terror
I've been having pretty phenomenal results with my TT (and Rectifier 4x12) and an SM57, the 57 is a great mic for the price IMHO, it's kind of the industry standard when it comes to micing guitar cabs. I really think you can forget about attenuators etc. if you're most concerned with getting the bes...

Re: DEFINITIVE ORANGE FORUM GUIDE TO: Overdrive Pedals
Well if this is the definitive guide to overdrive (not distortion which I wouldn't use anyway)... MAXON OD820. Smoothest overdrive, it's the best of what I've tried, just about every od out there over the past 20 or so years. It even smoked the Klon Centaur, a revered boutique pedal, head to head in...

Re: the hard wired has landed...
I don't know about the debacle you refer to in particular, but yeah, that's exactly why I said I'm skeptical about the tone improvement part. there are certainly enough guys who say it sounds better, I'll make a point of thoroughly A/Bing a regular TT against the hard wired version first, and report...

the hard wired has landed...
Yesterday I got a call from Axe Music telling me that my hard wired tiny terror is in the country and they're just waiting to have it sent to the store...it's about 1-2 weeks out! I traded my regular TT about a month ago for a special order on the hard wired edition after I had some static noise tha...
