Most likely, the original EL84 quartet was well matched.

But it's also possible the owner who sold it had another amp with burnt out EL84, and took 2 fresher looking ones from the TH30.....

I have had EL84 gone bad that emitted all sorts of weird noises intermittently, including wooshing and crackling....

I called Orange USA and I was wrong: a channel is routed out for the reverb tank in the top of the case, so a longer one won't fit. Also, upgrading the tank would require changing the impedance of the send and return for the reverb. Interesting. Thankfully, the RV50 MKI is plentiful.... What made y...
